I have several reels I'd like to get serviced and upgrade the bearing in. Who do you folks use in the D/FW area? Sent a couple of reels off to a supposedly good reel service center and reels were returned in no better condition than when I sent them in. One even has the magnetic braking system "reversed!!!" Looking for someone local and reliable, please.

south western parts & services . Mockingbird in Dallas Only send them here if you are not fishing anytime soon. Friend of mine took in some ambassador reels in for maintenance and finally got them back 4 months later. I've heard others waiting a long time also. Good luck

Olson's on Robert's Cut off and 199 in ftw/lake worth is really good. They generally take about a week.

It is super easy to replace the bearings yourself. You'd be surprised how easy. They are pretty cheap, but you will need to buy the Fishing Spool Pin Pliers to ensure you don't bend or break that pin. Anglers Pro Tackle on Rufe Snow in North Richland Hills sends them out. Takes about 2 weeks but every one they've done has been done right. Rod repairs too only sent to a different guy. Great place and great friendly folks and service. Worth the trip from around the DFW metroplex.

I use Nathan "Bull" Montgomery. He's on the forum in rods/reels. Did a great job at a fair price!
