No way in the world I would pay 10 dollars for a rattle trap. Especially when there are so many more better, cheaper alternatives.

Doc, do yourself a favor, paint a few thin black lines horizontally on them and 1 backwards half moon red line vertically where the gills should be (sharpie works too)..... You're welcome.

buy a new one, that's a whole lotta drama to paint a lure.

There are several people like myself that I know that enjoy bait building and don't find much drama to be involved.

"drama"?? odd choice of words to describe painting a lure. i can think of a lot of other words to describe what we do like satisfaction, pride, creativity, enjoyment, skill, etc. of course if you're a cowboys fan i understand why you like drama
"dreamers have tomorrow if today does not come true"

I noticed years ago that lures with the paint completely worn away still catch plenty of fish. I believe it has more to do with specific action and sound than the color of paint.
You can fish two seemingly identical lures side by side. One catches twice the fish of the other. That's the one to hang onto, paint or no paint. It's also why I hate to lose one of those.

If I could find the time I would really enjoy painting them, but for five bucks each, meh.

For the average guy that does not paint I guess he can buy 5 and throw them with no paint, no split rings and no hooks 5 for $8.00
