No way in the world I would pay 10 dollars for a rattle trap. Especially when there are so many more better, cheaper alternatives.

I might try a few like Brad has there but also can get new ones at Academy for $4.99, for 1/2, 3/4 and 1 oz size.

buy a new one, that's a whole lotta drama to paint a lure.

That might be your opinion, but they can be painted and finished to hold up alot better than the factory finishes on most baits. There are several people like myself that I know that enjoy bait building and don't find much drama to be involved.

"drama"?? odd choice of words to describe painting a lure. i can think of a lot of other words to describe what we do like satisfaction, pride, creativity, enjoyment, skill, etc. of course if you're a cowboys fan i understand why you like drama stir

I noticed years ago that lures with the paint completely worn away still catch plenty of fish. I believe it has more to do with specific action and sound than the color of paint.

You can fish two seemingly identical lures side by side. One catches twice the fish of the other. That's the one to hang onto, paint or no paint.
It's also why I hate to lose one of those.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

If I could find the time I would really enjoy painting them, but for five bucks each, meh.

Several other places list them for 7.29-8.59 with better color selections though.

I meant brand. A trap is not an alternative to a trap.
