And then you have DaveB, Tommy2268, Dougm, Crappie king, cvillemudcat, Doug P (dkfishin), Jason W (kayakin4crappie), Reggie S (time2gofish) and countless more that are not on the TFF or the GG that can catch tons of crappie out of Granger.
Actauly, I know of a couple of Old timers that fish all the time on Granger that catch more fish and on average bigger fish than all of us together. I have seen the fish and the pictures. Why do you not hear about them? They say they do not want Granger being that busy or anyone looking for them in "thier" spots. I just thought my wintertime fishing was good. In the winter they limit out EVERY time out! They cull any fish under 13".. yes I said 13"! They catch enough to have fish fries for thier whole 200 member church every month.
Yeah, I know what your thinking... I just thought I was a good Crappie fisherman on Granger too!

That's a shame that there are people pulling that many crappies out of Granger each month to feed 200 people. Are there not possession limits in Texas? I've never fished in a state where so many people need to keep a limit every time out or they don't consider themselves successful! Has anyone thought about taking enough for a meal and putting the rest back for another day? So glad Minnesota has more sense with their bag and possession limits!

Has anyone thought about taking enough for a meal and putting the rest back for another day? So glad Minnesota has more sense with their bag and possession limits! To be honest that's really nothing. They plan on 2-4 filets per person so that is really only about 300 fish with all the trimmings. Its hard to believe, but not all of them like or eat the fish. They also catch catfish to feed their church. I guess I should have said that too. The real point being, Crappie are prolific breeders and for the damage that they do.. along with the guides and the rest of us its nothing. I can fish the 400+ Brushpiles I have marked on Granger and catch at least 2 keepers per pile with about 25 dinks. That does not even include fishing any of the timber that is on the lake. So if you do the math that it 10000 in just the spots I know. I am willing to bet there are well over 100000 crappie in that lake.

Before you start bashing the Great State of Texas, I suggest you do some research on the life cycle and the prolific life style of crappie. I am so glad Texas Parks & Wildlife has more sense than Minnesota. Let me help you out with your research, www.tpwd.texas.gov
