Fishing Pecan Grove Park and searched for crappie not what i normally do usually search for bass but wanted to eat some. Found where they were hanging at but only managed to get two on stringer lost one and others were dinks. Also hooked this 3.5 lb bass on 6 lb test it was a real test. Anyway any suggestions what to use for crappie was using small frogs on spinners they liked that pretty good but im really not a crappie fisherman so any suggestions will be taken. They are hanging close to edge of weed line in about 6 to 10 ft of water lots of weeds there so dont want to get hung in them only want to hang crappie

Crappie in ponds (even bigger ponds like pecan grove) can tend to be mostly undersized. The bigger more fertile the lake the bigger the crappie you find in numbers.
As far as baits if you are just out there for a meat haul and not a dedicated crappie fisherman minnows on a three way rig are usually the way to go. Small jigs with soft plastics work well. And if those were biting on little spinners I would try roadrunners. It is a jig with a little spinner hanging off of its nose.

Oh wow, I grew up in Sherman, and that used to be private property! I always wanted to fish that lake!

I've caught lots of nice crappie from Dean Gilbert lake. The larger ones tend to school around the water outlet. Jigs have proven to be the best for me. Black /chartreuse and red/chartreuse. The rest of the lake is pretty shallow.

Thanks Jerry usually catch them out at the wooden pole in the middle of the lake there at least pull 4 to 6 out of the pole. Pulled a nice 4.5 lbs bass out of there today. I will give the Outlet a try i marked a few there on the fish finder. I will give it a shot thanks again sir.
