Looks good. I'd squeeze some clear two part epoxy (Permatex auto section at Wmart) into a paper cup, mix it, then use a good paintbrush to coat it, let her dry and call it done. The drying time on those automotive clear epoxies is about 5 minutes, so work quickly. Put the cap back on the epoxy to use for later for other projects.

I wouldn't use 5 min set time find a 30 min set time even the 30 min set time will only give a few minutes working time to get a smooth coat.

Looks like a nice bait, good job!

looks like the previous owner was using 50lb mono or maybe a light clothes line on it. geez. the rehab looks great. as suggested above, clear coat and go get her wet.
+2 on the 30 minute epoxy. 5 minute stuff will give you less than a minute working time before it starts to set up and get too tacky to work.
devcon 2 ton 30 minute epoxy. if you can get the bait to me i'll be happy to clear coat it for you and save you the time and money and wasted epoxy.

Agree, the 30 minute epoxies will give you more time.

BSI is available at Hobby lobby in the 9oz size

For just one lure, the small 1/2oz tube of devcon from Amazon prime should be plenty

Go to Walmart in the crafts section and get a package of 30 disposable paint brushes for $0.97. That's what I use for my epoxy. Not a good paint brush.
