Hi Fellow Anglers,
Took dad to Ray Roberts for some crappies on Friday. It was awesome to watch him catch some crappies and a surprised flathead. Most crappies were caught with minnows and some with jigs. Again minnows outfished jigs 4 to 1. All crappies caught off COE piles in 20 to 25 feet. Flathead was released to fight another day.

On Saturday took my wife and son to Tawakoni for family quality time! Son wanted to catch some crappies and the wife wanted some sandies and hybrids. The plan didn't work out. It was a tough day. Checked Finger Point and there were multiple boats trolling so we moved on to Sun Point. Nada. Checked all usual spots. Nada. Sporadic schools and it was over. Ended with 2 crappies, 2 sandies, and 2 cats. Didn't catch much but nontheless it was great to be there with my wife and son.

Yi

What a great report. The photos you added really added to your post were very much appreciated.
Look at that rod bent with the flathead your father caught, that is incredible.
I have never caught a flathead and that is one freshwater fish I still have on my bucket list.

But the real topper is your son and that huge crappie and that even larger smile on what is going to be a wonderful memory of fishing with the family. Outstanding
Thanks for sharing. thumb
