Who is selling the ball head or walleye heads with the small wire bait keeper?
I would like to try some to see how they work.

Johnny

Might want to get them from Mo's,
Jigum stopped by yesterday & I inquired about them, wanting some to test. Was able to make a trade for a few, but he said he wasn't going to make them to sell.

Jigum has one of the best, if not the best hand tied jigs in the south sure he is busy. But, here in Texas we do have a place for someone to do hooks.
The keeper type hook is ok, but not as good as a hook with small collar. The heavy weight jigs the collar is to big for all jigs. Some jigs will work on the 1/16 and the small weights most jigs will work. Walmart some times will have hooks with keeper, don't remember if they were Bobby Garland are what.

The wire keeper heads are not for everyone, but I like them. Some say it will tear the plastic up if you take the body off, but most keeper heads do damage anyway.

If and when they become popular, be prepared to pay extra for them. The small (crappie) jig molds use the WB400 insert and they sell for anywhere from 6.5 to 8.5 cents apiece which adds considerably to the cost of production.

I have been a jig maker for over 50 years and have seen most of what we fish with come on the market. I like the collar better than a keeper but don't use either one. The best way I have found is back from the head a little way wrap some thread for a small buildup. Then seal it with super glue and top and bottom let it all most drip for little more build up. Works better than what's out there. But this way is not 100%.

Mr. Mays I appreciate your tying jigs for 50 years but I have been fishing for over 50 years also and
Sandwich Maker is also a jig maker. I didn't ask for opinions on which jig to fish, I asked where to
buy the jigs that I wanted. If I wanted to super glue my plastics to my jigs I have a thousand or so I could do that to but I want to buy jigs with a wire bait keeper.
