I need to replace my 2 TM batteries. Does anyone have knowledge or experience with the Exide Stowaway Dual-Purpose Batteries? Academy has them for $69. I don't think I'll find batteries any cheaper.

I have found that over the years, the main problem that I have had with batteries is my on board charger. Now that I have installed the GUEST brand of batt charger, I have not had issues anymore.
All my other chargers would over charge and boil out all my water and you know what that does to a battery. I use Walmart brand Marine battery that has a two year warranty. Seems to be working well!

I use the 2 year warrantee batteries from Walmart also, 29 series.

Have one as a cranking battery that's still going from 2009.

This
After I got a good on board charger, my batt problems went away. Use Walmart deep cycle with no problems. Last two went 4 yrs before they got just a little weak. They were still good but got weak after 7hrs use.

Autozone batteries are good too Vern. Plus there is an Autozone almost everywhere.

I use water proof Battery Tenders to charge my batteries. They charge a little slower but will help extend the life of marine batteries.

I've prolly had 10 or 12 of them. Couldn't resist the sale price at academy. Think with rebate they were $49. Unfortunately I have not had good experiences. Short lives for some reason. Come to think of it, that's why I've had to buy so many of them! My neighbor had the same experience with them. I'm going with walmart group 29 deep cycle next time. 2cents

Thank you everyone for the comments/opinions. I THINK I have a good onboard charger, it's a Minn Kota MK210 2 bank. It's dedicated to the 2 TM batteries & I think it goes into "Maintenance Mode" once the batteries reach full charge. I don't keep it connected all the time. I'll usually check after a period and if the lights tell me the batteries are fully charged, I'll disconnect the charger. I would LOVE to be confident with "cheaper" batteries. Is my charger sufficient?

I went to a Minn Kota 3 bank charger this last year and do the same as you Vernon, per the dealer that sold me the charger and my TM. I use interstate batteries and so far they and the charger are giving me good service.

I have used Walmart deep cycle batteries for years with good success. Get ones with the 2 yr warranty and if after 12 to 23 months it goes bad, take it back.....

Still using Delco Voyagers. Last pair lasted 6 years, the pair before that 9 years.
