I'm going to buy a clear water shallow diving hard bait. Color, brand and model is where i need your advice. I want to know what these Spotted Bass or hitting using your experiences. There are LMB in this clear water but most bites are Spotted bass.

TAKE A PHOTO HOME NOT THE FISH. CATCH AND RELEASE
Set the hook first and ask questions later.

Check out www.skirmishbaits.com The M9 is an awesome squarebill. $9.99 for a custom painted crank bait is hard to beat, especially with the quality behind Dwain Bateys paint jobs. The cricket shad color is hard to beat in any situation.

Lucky Craft 1.5's to 2.0's in a silent version. Something natural like Ghost Minnow.

Color and size are more important than brand in my opinion, you want to match the hatch! The bass may be eating shad, bluegill, or crawdfish so I recommend matching these patterns and sizes. Also take into consideration if it will be used mainly for cold water fishing or warm water fishing. I typically fish red or brown colors during winter, then stick with a very natural/translucent shad type color during warmer months. I do not like too much flash in very clear water with a shallow crankbait. In very cold water a flat sided crankbait like a 6th Sense Lures Crush Flat 75X, or Rapala #5 or #7 Shad Rap are great as they mimic the lethargic movements of the baitfish. The Crush Flat 75X is my favorite as it will cast a long distance compared to most any other flat sided crankbait! During summertime when the water is warmer and fish are more active a Crush 50X Squarebill or a small finesse sized crankbait like a Crush Mini 25MD will do work on spotted bass on 8 lb fluorocarbon. Hope this help!

I sure like academy's h20 squarebills, great paint jobs and cheap. Less than $4 I believe, maybe only $2.99 a piece I can't remember.
