Took fishing buddy Paul with me to RC today. We caught 131: 123 whites, 5 short hybrids, an 18 inch hybrid, a cat and a keeper yellow bass. We caught them in 21 to 24 fow mostly on #2 Mepps but also caught some on #4’s. We found fish in the morning at Windsock Point and in the afternoon at Pelican Island near the landing strip. Thanks to TFFers Gone Fishin’, CenTexan and Txfishbts for their tips on where to find fish.

I might add for the benefit of RC locals, we also caught a lot of 7 to 9 inch sandies, which bodes well for the future. Also, at the far edge(toward the open lake) of the dam structures, we saw a lot of fish down slope in 31 to 33 fow that looked like white bass concentration patterns. However, we couldn't get them to take our Mepps that far down, so I couldn't verify they were whites. The only structures we checked were those out from the dam, Windsock and Pelican Island.

Mr. Christian I am starting to get better at your technique, today 30 ft of water limit of sandbass , couple keeper hybrids, small black bass and 3 gaspergoo . Went from #4 to #2 mepps , thanks again.

I fished Chambers on Friday and was using a slab on a spot where there has been some fish. I didn't mark any but stopped to fish anyways. We started with slabs and caught several under 10". So I decided to throw on the mepps and give it a try. I ended up catching 6 whites and a hybrid all over 14" in the next hour on a rather sluggish day. It was crazy to see how effective it was on the bigger fish. They couldn't resist it.

I decided to order some parts and try my hand and making my own in-line spinner to mock the mepps. They might not be as good but will be cheaper then $5 a pop.

THANK YOU Dennis!!
