At least that's what I'm putting together.
This has been the main topic of most of the conversations I've had lately with folks that know a lot more than myself
The fish I had been on are not there anymore, pass over a waypoint and you'll only see a few white dots and they are dinks & yellow bass
Monday evening (9-21) Belinda & I went out for a couple of hours and that was what we found.
I did manage to catch 1 nice fish suspended above a huge laydown on a main lake point
That was the only nice fish we caught
Tuesday evening (9-22) we slipped back out and headed south. We hit some waypoints I had found early summer when I took Young Guns out.
The 1st spot we fished was a submerged tree top & it was loaded, but we couldn't buy a bite.......
Moved a short distance to a bp at the bottom of a stump and marked more fish.
These I was able to make bite, but as before, small and slow was the ticket
Slowly but surely, I pulled some toads up
All of them hit while I was slowly raising my jig
Ended up with 9 from here, which I gave to el rojo
We then moved a little more south and caught 3 more nice keepers and some shorts
When I was leaving to head to the ramp, I noticed I could see a thermocline on my graph, which I have not been seeing up north
Here's the best 4
All were caught on the Natural Shad on a Chart 1/32 jig head
I'll be looking at my southern waypoints to see if I can follow the fish to the dam
