FLOYD'S On The Water. Or sugarland. or any of the other Floyd's. There are about 5 in the area. But the one called Floyd's on the water is very nice and awesome food. The view is nice too. Eat outside and enjoy the breeze. I'll be looking for your "thank you for the Floyd's referral" when you return. Enjoy!

when 61st dead ends into the seawall on Galveston Island turn right, go down about 20 miles down the Island and when you just get into Surfside try the Red Snapper Inn on the left. Try the Stuffed Flounder and a shrimp cocktail. You can't miss it cause it's just past the Purple Cow Restaurant.

Topwater Grill in San Leon.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Yes. With one slight correction: opt for the fried crab claws appetizer over the shrimp cocktail.

Get the stuffed grilled pork chop at fisherman wharf, one of the finest meals I've ever ate.

Why go to a premium seafood joint and then order a porkchop? Is that like chichen at Saltgrass?

almost all the older well known places, like Landry's, are owned by chains and the quality has gone. a while back i ordered stuffed flounder at the Flying Dutchman in Kemah, and got a flounder filet with stuffing laid on top of it. i complained to the waiter and was told, that's how we do it. at Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston, i ordered Jumbo Fried shrimp and got breaded shrimp that looked to be about 20-22 count, not the battered jumbo's they used to have. when i complained they comp'ed me another 1/2 dozen.
if you want good seafood, try one of the places mentioned in the above posts. also for fried shrimp, try Louis' on Hwy 6 and Highland Bayou in Bayou Vista.

Not the first less than glowing report I've heard on the Flying Dutchman. I ate there back in the early 90s and the food was highly priced and average back then. Never bothered to go back

Is there any seafood buffets there in Galveston? We will be spending a night there in July. With all the cruise ships there has to be something, and not Chinese style.

Eating highlights for our trip down to Galveston which we had our best time down there. Lots of clean up, the beaches were in great shape and the place was busy and fun.
Millers - We usually always go here for breakfast but we decided to go late afternoon and their food was awesome. Stuffed shrimp appetizer with cheese and jalepeno, grilled fish and seafood platter with fried oysters and grilled shrimp were great.
Benno's - Crawrish Etoufee, Cajun grilled shrimp with Cajun potatoes and sauted mushrooms were great. This place is a fun place to go have some great Cajun food.
Original Mexican Restaurant - Spicy shrimp cocktail might have ended up my #1 of all time. What a great flavor. Mexican dinner was a ton of food as well as another stuffed shrimp with cheese and jalepeno appetizer.
Stuttgarten Beer - Outside beer garden. Tried some great Blonde and Pale Ales here. Nice place to relax when walking the Pier 21 area's shopping the different places.
There is a place down there also that sells all kinds of Chocolate covered apples. I got some truffels there for desert.
Gumbo Diner - Cannot go down there without having breakfast here and get some their beignets. Even something as simple as my scrambled eggs with cheese tastes great here and they have a huge awesome Ham steak.
Tortuga Mexican Restaurant - Shrimp cocktail, Grilled fish and shrimp and rice were great. The Patron frozen margarita's reminded us why we always go there.
The food at every place was way above average. We still didn't get to a few places we wanted to try but we left with memories of some great food we had while down there.
