ok, boat sat in barn/garage for 2+ years and now back on the water and all is coming along, Saturday some fishing trees for crappie, was headed over a large pasture/flat to another tree line............hand control 82 lb motor guide, I had the foot switch locked to on and on max thrust. almost to tree line and all died. my troll 1 c/b was tripped. reset all ok for minor troll motor use as we were tying up etc. this troll motor is a replacement for my original 74 lb that went bad and this motor was new and I have bass fished with no issues....question? is the 74 to 82 lb thrust having more amps etc? I am gonna see if a rat hasn't partially chewed a wire causing a voltage/amp spike. I have 25+ static voltage up front but wondering about wires strand being reduced in a wire.

Remember that as voltage starts to drop, current (amperage) has to increase for the same amount power ( watts aka "thrust")
