Do these play a factor this time of year? Going up this weekend and was wondering if they have been worth finding/checking. Just fishing for fun.

Thanks,

I think brush piles and the tire reefs play a big part year round out there because outside of the boat docks there is no structure in the lake. I fished a tire reef last week that really produced well (3 fish on 1st 4 casts). Unfortunately after the 4th cast and 3rd fish I went to hit the trolling motor and it was dead. So off the lake I went and 2 new batteries later, it was time to watch some football.

I will be back out there this weekend.

Never heard of tire reefs. I plan on spending a little time graphing this weekend. My in laws live on the lake, however, I am only able to fish it 2-3 times a year because we live a good ways away. Thanks for the help.

The tire reefs are very easy to find. And they do hold lots of Kentucky's and largemouth both.
Check the point on the west end of Walleye Park area as well.

Fished it last weekend. With the water down you have to stick to the docks with steeper banks. Bruch piles and reefs only produced small fish for me. The only keepers, including one 6 pounder, came from docks.

I've been pre-fishing for a club tournament this coming weekend, We've been catching a lot of fish off both brush piles and tire reefs but no quality fish. Tournaments over at 1pm Saturday I'm sure I'll hang around and fish after if you see a red/black skeeter with 2 talons holler at me I'll show you where some tire reefs are and maybe a brush pile or 2 cheers

They aren't on the offshore stuff very good right now. Hit docks, shallower on points, and the Lilly pad fish will be turning on soon. The fish are getting ready for Fall a little early this year!

I'll be back out there sat/sun with my son while mamma works. Silver/white basscat.

carp!!! Then I may stay off the water or maybe hit Monti instead. If I do go out there tell Stax to not follow me around! For what it's worth, the quality bite really picked up for me out there last weekend. Ronnie is definitely right in that the fish are much more shallow right now than a normal late September.
