I haven't seen much fan-fare for this event. I'm registered but I thought I would see alot more advertising for it..thoughts? Are there really that many more Skeeter owners?!?

It is the first year, I would it will take a few years for it to gain a lot of attention. I am sure it is similar to Basscat tournament it gets bigger every year.
We are looking forward to it, I prefer the string tournament over the hourly weigh in but I know a lot of people don't.

Me and my wife are planning on fishing it. Pretty excited as this will be the first tournament for me in 20 years and her first. Hopefully this will become a tradition for us.

I signed up as soon as I heard about it. I was trying to go to the TOT in Tennessee on Kentucky Lake 12 years back but just couldn't make it happen. I'm glad they brought this to Texas. I damn near wore my boat out waiting for this one. Glad to see it's a five fish stringer this is good for many reasons. One it's easier on the fish and the lake plus the people working the event don't have to handle so many fish. Two it makes it possible for someone to fish alone and still be able to compete against two man teams. I think this is a money pay out tournament. I didn't see anything about boats to be given away or anything like that. This is the first time I ever signed up for a tournament and didn't know what I could win. I think they really need to rethink the rules and all this rules meeting stuff on Friday. The registration starts at 1:00 pm on Friday the banquet and rules meeting at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. That will make it very hard for people to get signed up. I have fished Skeeter with my friend in his Skeeter boat; that tournament runs a lot more like Sealy and Berkley. I think it should stay a five fish stringer and run the registration and boat checks like all the other tournaments and the people will show up. Instead of having boat checks at 4:30 am on tournament day they should be letting people sign up and launch from the ramp of their choice.

probably, but Skeeter throws quite the party and show. Got to start somewhere and as good as place to get it started.
