I spent the day on a local lake (i wont say which) with James today. He is offering a teaching service, at least that is the best way that I can describe it. What he did was break down the lake into seasonal patterns, showing me key areas and details that would have taken me years to learn on my own. After today, I feel more confident about the lake than I ever have before.
I have been out on 3 or 4 guided trips at Fork over the last few years, and haven't learned half of what i did today. I guess the reason is that most guides that take you out are simply trying to put you on fish for that day. His service is completely different. We did spend some time fishing, but a lot of the time was spent touring the lake and discussing what would work and when, graphing humps, points, rock piles, and things like that.
He will go to just about any lake near the Metroplex and do the same thing. I feel like I will probably save as much money on fuel over the next year or two not wasting time on unproductive water as I spent on his service today. It was completely worth the money, and I am actually considering doing it again for another lake.
For any of you guys that don't know James Biggs, he has fished pro for a few years with good success and won countless local tournaments over the years. If you look at the FLW results from this season, there were only 2 tournament days that he didn't have a limit, and he had 4 on both of those. That is what i call consistency.
I don't feel comfortable just giving out his number, but he is on this forum, and i'm sure that he will respond here with his contact information.

I had a great time today. I'm very glad it was helpful & built your confidence for the future out there. If there is a lake you struggle with or a techniques you want to learn I'm your guy. Anybody interested feel free to PM about booking a trip.
You are going to have to teach me how to "video game" fish better very soon. I don't like it much, but I want to be more versatile. I hate seeing them and not being able to capitalize on those fish.

Wheeler branch or Squaw are Great Lakes to learn that!
Had a great time fishing with James today, with the lake turning over fishing was a little tough, but he figured them out by the end of the day. James boated 30 fish and I caught 12 I believe. Not the numbers I have been catching but the fish were not really eating very well. I learned a couple completely new techniques today that I will sure have to practice with after seeing them in action. James made a tough day very enjoyable on the lake, and I'm looking forward to our next trip and also looking forward to learning more with him next time. Thanks James for a great day on the water and offering this wonderful service.
Here are a couple of the picture worthy fish today no giants but sure beat setting at home.
I was lucky enough to hit the water yesterday with Mr. Biggs. You guys owe it to yourselves to get out on the water with James. We went to a lake that I frequent but have been struggling with lately. I think a lot of us have been struggling with this particular lake lately. James opened my eyes up to a whole new world. He pointed out things I honestly think I would have never figured out in a lifetime of fishing. Stayed up half the night writing down and thinking about all the information James provided me.
I know we all think we are good and whatnot but a true professional is a different breed of character and sees things a lot differently, at least for me. The tips, tricks, and information I gained in a day on the water with James are priceless. He took 20 years of fishing experience and condensed it down to what I needed to know to become a great angler on this lake.
Absolute best money I have spent on fishing. I joked with him yesterday and told him I didn’t want anybody else to find out about him. I am fairly certain a lot of things we discussed yesterday nobody else is doing and I wanted to keep it to myself but like I said you guys owe it to yourself to spend a day on the water with this guy! I creep on here constantly never posting much but after yesterday I feel like you guys need to know how good James is and how much he can improve your skills and confidence. I am pretty sure James spent more in gas driving me around explaining and showing areas of the lake to me than I paid for the fee!
Fishing aside James is a great guy. Had a lot of fun and am thankful for the time on the water with him yesterday. Give him a shout and you will not regret it!
I think this type of instructional trip has probably been needed for a long time. For someone with James experience and time he has put on the water to develop the knowledge and technique's needed sets up perfect for a trip that he can pass along information that like you said would take forever to learn on your own. I am sure the learning curve is cut tremendously which will give you the opportunity to start using tips and technique's immediately which should only make you a better angler.
Thanks everyone. I'm excited, but not shocked by the response I've gotten from those who have gone out with me. I remember when I was young trying to improve but not having a clue what the next step was. I'm glad that today I'm able to help other anglers with that.
Got out on the lake today and took what all James showed me and absolutely whacked them. Nothing huge but caught lots of fish on a lake I've really struggled with. Wife was with me catching some rays and she's my biggest critic. Thinks I suck because I spend all my money on fishing and don't win every tournament I enter! It was going so well she picked up a rod and caught a few herself. Talked to a few other boats on the water that stated they hadn't caught anything or were having a tough time.
Thanks again James. Today was proof your service really works!!!
Had James come out today and show me how to break down a lake and how to prepare for a tournament. All I have to say is he is the reel deal. James knows what he is doing. We started off at the ramp by breaking down the lake. While at the ramp there was a tournment group meeting a James asked if I wanted to fish the tournment. I told him no as I was think to my self he has never been on this lake and I know how hard it can be. Well that was a mistake. James showed me how to break down creek and find fish in the at the same time not to get stuck to one bait and what bait to use to find them. By 9am we had 50+ fish that we had boated most of that 50 was by James. I all I can say is if you want to learn how to fish like a pro and be treated with class then book James. He shows that you don't need a bunch of sponsors and fansey equipment to be a top class fisherman.
Wow What great response form your clients that already fish. The last few guides I hired it seamed they just want to show me they could out fish me. Before my last trip I told the guy over the phone I need jig help. Everyone but me can do it. Fished out the day and never tried a jig. I have liked and learned from every guide I have hired. Im going to call this guy Biggs Thanks for the report.
James how Far East on I-20 do you fish? Would like to spend a day on the water with you, sounds like a great educational venture be well worth the money??
I was so impressed with how much I learned and how much confidence I gained with a day on the water with James that I booked a second trip on a different lake. Didn't think it was possible but we whacked them even more than our previous trip. My goal with James has been to help me break down lakes and learn what a pro does when hitting the water. What to look for and how to get fish patterned more quickly. He spent a lot of time driving and teaching but the times we stopped he absolutely whacked them just to relieve any doubts I may have had in my mind. The man is a real fisherman. he starts the day off telling me "this lake is tough" and things like that. The guy catches 3 nice keepers off the ramp by the time I get the trailer pulled out of the water!
If you want to learn a new lake, you need a confidedence booster, or want to learn to catch fish consistently James Biggs is your guy. He will help you eliminate tons of unproductive water and get on the fish more quickly. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for the trip yesterday James. It was all I could do to not leave work and head back out that way this morning. That frog bite was insane. I think we should make a SPRO commercial!
Guess which west side lake that you only need these 3 rods for:
Xcite square bill Santone swim jig Spro Frog
I've been wanting to get out there. Just can't justify buying the pass, and with the boat being stored in Lewisville, it's easier to go to Lewisville or Grapevine. Maybe I'm making a mistake!

Does it have to be an excite squarebill????? In all fairness you did smoke me and my RC. and yes I did go buy some excite squarebills. Your marketing ploy sucked me in. Not to mention your 10 fish for my every one!
Fished a tournament with James and he showed me some tricks with a buzzbait on docks that I still use. Fun fished with him a few times and always come away better for the experience. Have known him probably 15-20 years now and he has always caught them like that. Great guide, friend and person.
Had a great time getting schooled on Lake Arlington. James took me out for a drop shot training course. All I can say is that my mind was blown!! I use to think there isn't much to fishin a drop shot but man was I wrong. Let me put it to you this way. He was nice enough to let me use his rod set up, same line and leader, same weight, hook and worm and he out fished me 16 to 2. And, to top it off, he caught a fatty that was easily in the 7 lb range with that fairy stick. At least I caught the first fish of the day . Cant wait to see the improvements in my tournament finishes next year just because of this one trip. He is a real stand-up guy and one hell of a stick. Thank you for the lessons and looking forward to the next trip.
I had the opportunity to go out with James and it was a blast. I learned more about this particular lake in several hours than I had learned in months upon months of fishing it myself. James kept it very simple and fun and showed me how to catch more quality fish. What I really liked was that before we even got started James asked me what I wanted to take away from this experience. He wanted to make sure that he was teaching me what I wanted to know and then he took the time to show me. This has most certainly been a eye opener for me and I am already counting down the days until my next booked trip with James. Do yourself a favor if you are needing help in a certain area or on a certain lake, call James Biggs and book a trip. I promise you that you will be glad you did.
Did we catch fish? You better believe it! I will be posting pics soon....... Pm or call James!!!
I would like to thank James for a great experience. Yesterday we spent the day on my home lake and it was awesome. I asked James if he would teach me his approach to eliminating water and establishing a pattern. It took him a grand total of 45 minutes to figure out a pattern. All the While coaching me on what he was doing, seeing, not seeing, etc... The speed and confidence that James has when he fishes is amazing. Like it has been said in previous post I learned more in one day on the water with James than I would have learned in years of trial and error, if ever. He kept everything simple and relayed the information so even I could understand it. I will definitely be booking another trip with him.
A shoutout to James Biggs he took me out yesterday on 2 lakes wheeler branch and lake granbury I had a blast being able to pick his brain about breaking down a lake, how to fish for suspended fish in deep water, how to better read my graphs, and a lot of rigging and fishing tips that will help with bait presentation. He did a great job of helping me gain confidence while keeping us around fish. A big thanks to him. If you really want to step up your fishing to the next level contact him he's a great guy

We had around 60 bass today on Squaw Creek. 12-25' of water on C-rig, Drop Shot & 6xd. We only had 17lbs or so for our best 5. Just enough to get laughed out of the weigh in line had it have been a tournament. I'm headed back out there tomorrow. Fishing report coming soon.

I wouldn't even go out there if I couldn't do any better than that!

I got to spend yesterday on the water with James and my expectations where exceeded, I had a couple of things I wanted to work on so we discussed them in length as well as many other things on the way to the ramp. Once on the water James broke everything down and we caught fish all day on a couple of techniques that I would not have considered in the conditions we where in. James is a great teacher and a great person to spend a day in the boat with, he explains things as they are happening working or not and he is funny as all get out, even though we just met it was like we had known and fished together for years. Give James a call you will not be disappointed!
I had the opportunity to jump in the boat the other day & all I can say is WOW. I now understand the difference in the weekend warrior & a tour pro. His ability to read new water & his graph is unreal. We both were video gaming fish up to 5lbs on his graph with a drop shot all the while talking me through step by step what to look for. I learned so many things that I feel like I need to go again to absorb all the info. I have taken guide trips before & this was nothing like those. I left the water confident that I'm a better angler than when the day began. If you book him you won't regret it.
I had a great time today. I'm very glad it was helpful & built your confidence for the future out there. If there is a lake you struggle with or a techniques you want to learn I'm your guy. Anybody interested feel free to PM about booking a trip.
I had a chance to fish with James recently and I was thoroughly impressed. This is not a guide trip, it's definitely a learning trip and James is a very able and willing teacher. We attacked a lake that James hadn't fished in 2 years like he would on any practice day from a "if they're not doing this, then we should check this" type of approach, and we were able to get them dialed in after a few hours.
I learned a bunch, and that was probably only 10% of what he told me. James will definitely help you become a better tournament angler. It's rare for a guy that's had success like him to be willing to share how he does it. Thanks again James!
Spent the day with James and it was just PERFECT for a newbee like me. I didn't even know he was was a tournament master. I still have a lot to learn, but basically I was fishing in the wrong spots, casting wrong, retrieving wrong, and just about everything else. I would have brought more of a tip if I knew I was with someone this good. The difference with James is he gives you guidance and he's very patient. This one trip will make a life time of trips more enjoyable for my whole family. And James thank you for your service in your job. It was easy to tell he is just an all around good guy.
I'm booking in the spring as well to get more advice and continue on the path to Jedi master like James.
I had an awesome day with James. I learned more then my brain could handle. So much info and such a different way of looking at things. Great job in teaching you to understand how to pattern fish. Can't wait to put what I've learned to use. James answered every question. So many little things that made huge differences too. It was insane when he put it all together and I seen it with my own eyes. I will be a repeat customer. Best money (investment) I've spent.
Went out with James on Squaw Creek. I have been fishing Squaw off and on since the mid eighties. I have caught lots of fish but never the 5 fish stringers needed to place in any tournaments out there. James took me to places I had written off years ago and caught fish moving very fast using methods I would never had tried there. If you have reached a plateau in your ability to find fish and catch them then I would highly recommend a trip with James to help get out of the rut and learn some new techniques way faster than your own trial and error. I plan to do another trip in the future on different lake.
I fished with James Biggs recently and it was the best educational fishing trip I've had. The confidence in when, and why to do things, bass habits, along with some tournament strategy would take me 10 years or more to acquire.
If you want to fish with more confidence and put more fish in the boat book him before your competition does.
If you want to fish with more confidence and put more fish in the boat for fun with the family book him now for the spring before somebody else does.
Got to go out with James on the 17th at Fork and had a good time and learned allot! Was a tuff bite but we landed 8 slots (4-5 lbs) and a few dinks. I learned a few new tricks of the trade and added allot to my tool belt when on the water. I was truly amazed at his teaching ability and style of teaching at that. He didn’t just talk about "What he had done and accomplished", he showed me how to apply what he had success with and there is no better way to influence a student than a 5lb bass at the end of your line! I can’t wait to apply what I have learned and I WILL book another trip in the spring! I hate spending that kind of money on a fishing trip but this was honestly an investment in my future fishing and well worth every single penny!
oh and dont let the z-7 fool ya! that dam thing will haul arse!

Go home at the end of your shift, no matter the cost!
My son fished with James today, has not stopped talking about his trip since he left the lake. Their 5 fish stringer would have been over 20lbs. today. James taught him several techniques; from breaking down breaking down a new lake, using your time on the water efficiently, simplifying tackle selection and how to approach productive areas. My Son will be fishing the college FLW circuit this year and feels very confident about the things he learned today. He and I will both be scheduling another outing in the near future.

I'm very glad everybody is improving & building the skills for future success. I'm booking out quick. We have been doing really well at squaw creek & fork. Any lake or technique you want to learn we will go do. Thanks
Hey everyone. I got to spend yesterday on the water with James on my home lake and it was better than advertised. The weather was great for Dec 30 which was a plus! I booked with James because I wanted to understand how to breakdown my lake, eliminate water and establish a pattern. This is an area I needed help with. Not just for my home lake but in general.
The previous posts are spot on.
He asks a lot of questions to understand how I think on the water. It was good to validate some of the things I was doing correctly and realize the other things I needed to erase from memory banks. I know have already increased my chances of catching more and bigger fish with the information James shared with me yesterday. James opened my eyes to new techniques and new locations I would have never considered before.
TLDR: James showed me how to fish with less guessing. Eliminate water and fish higher percentage spots considering the features of the lake. And a few new "rigs" I had refused to try in the past.
I spent New Years Day on the water with James. What a great trip, it wasn't about the number of fish we caught this was a true educational experience that I know will improve my fishing for years to come. James's approach to teaching you what to look for on the water and how to pattern fish is unlike other guide trips I've taken. I wanted to learn more about the lake and learn new techniques and James delivered. Do yourself a favor and book a trip with James.
Spent the day on the water with James Biggs. Can't say enough about this instructional class. Like posted before me ,do yourself a favor and BOOK him. Thanks James , looking forward to the next trip.
I just finished my second trip with James and it was everything I hoped it would be. Conditions were really tough but we still boated some quality bass. I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and work on new techniques. He showed me how to pattern fish even under adverse conditions. I would have had little success on my own under these conditions.I feel confident I will have a better chance on my own the next trip out. I was impressed with his skills to say the least, I can't wait for trip #3. Thanks Jeff
I am a couple days late in posting this but I went with James this past Saturday to a cold water lake in east texas. water temps ranged from 51 to 55 and James was able to pick up on a reliable pattern within the morning. This was an especially tough day for me because I was right in the middle of a full blown cold which I was feeling pretty tough as a result. James worked hard to keep the day fun and interesting and answered all my questions about seasonable patterns, bait options, water conditions, and we broke down the lake based on what he was able to learn in just a short time period. He evaluated water temp, water clarity, bait fish activity, and put together a nice pattern for the lake that as reproducible across the lake. He talked a lot about letting the fish tell him what was going on based on how the fish were biting and reacting. This trip was very enjoyable and well worth it!!! I hope to go again with him in the future.
I spent a day with James this past week and we had a great trip. James taught me a new technique that I have over looked for a long time and it was very successful. He also showed me things that would have taken me a long time to figure out on my own. James answered all of my questions and provided me with a plethora of tips that I can take with me everywhere I fish. I am very pleased with the trip overall and will definitely look to book another trip soon! Thank you James!
Ok, Saturday was my turn and we fished Squaw Creek. Rick at Anglers Pro Tackle had suggested James after I told him I needed help bad. This was supposed to be an educational trip - I wanted to learn to fish offshore structure, drop shotting and fishing a squarebill. I did learn a ton, but in addition, we absolutely whacked the big girls. No kidding, our top five was around 26 lbs! James did call it an exceptional day. One interesting point was how quickly James decided what lures not to use that day. My biggest takeaway was learning about suspended bass and how to go after them, even with a squarebill in deeper water. We ended the day with a tour around the lake with James pointing out places for me to try on my own. It was a great experience and I certainly plan to go again on another lake. Thanks James!

I think I remember seeing y'all. He's a good dude!
I got the chance to fish with Mr Biggs on Squaw Creek last Friday. It was a test for both of us to see if my favorite techniques with large swimbaits would produce as well or better than "normal" baits. Three casts into the morning I was already behind by 6lbs, and by the time I gave up on trying to convince those fish that my baits were better for them, James had already boated another 3 fish and was already pushing 20lbs. His knowledge of the lake and understanding the way the fish were setup on the structure was incredible. Everywhere we stopped he put on a clinic of how to fish finesse baits. Even his Carolina rig was finesse compared to what I'm used to. I finally gave into the temptations and proceeded to join him in the catching.
I've known James for several years but we never had the chance to fish together before now. He is truly a very talented fisherman, and a genuinely friendly guy. If you are looking to improve any aspect of fishing I would definitely recommend hiring him for an educational trip.
If you don't learn something from him on your trip, maybe bass fishing just isn't your thing!
Great day on the water with James Biggs on Saturday! We spent the day on Squaw Creek, learned a lot and managed to tie a PB and smash a PB, with a 6, 7, and 8 in a short amount of time. James was a great teacher and took the time to go over the where and why's of structure fishing. Thank you James!
I went out with James last week and it was awesome. I wanted to learn how to break down a lake to eliminate unproductive water and put a pattern together. James made it very easy to understand.
I was curious to see how he would put a pattern together for the day as it was windy and rainy. The temperature had dropped 18 degrees from the day before. We pulled up to the first spot and caught around 15, second spot 5. Then James wanted to try another technique. Made a run and James had 5 quality bites there. It was amazing to see a pro at work.
We ended the day with around 30 fish. Most people we talked to had caught between 0-6 and we spent just as much time talking and driving as we did fishing. If you're thinking about doing this DO IT.
my fishing partner and I had the pleasure of fishing with James this past week at an east Texas lake that has frustrated us many times in the past - after reading through these posts my expectations were pretty high and he did not fail to deliver, we were very impressed and learned a ton! (and also caught more fish on that lake in a short amount of time than we ever have) after taking the time to understand what we wanted to get out of the day over the phone James spent some time in the morning going over different rigs, simplifying our arsenal, and general strategy for covering water and finding fish quickly which were all things we had asked him to help us better understand. We then headed out to the first spot (about 5 seconds from the boat ramp) where we caught the first 6 fish of the day in under 45 min (I could still see our truck and trailer) - nothing like catching fish to reinforce the education he had just given us! In addition to learning several new techniques, presentation styles, and ways to identify high percentage areas to target fish James shared a wealth of general fishing knowledge and was genuinely fun to be around - I would highly recommend his services and as many here have said if you are thinking about it go ahead book him! It is a truly unique service and much different than any experience I have had with a traditional guide (I have been out with a number of local Fork guides and while all were top notch and put us on fish this is just a different kind of trip that will leave you feeling confident of putting fish in your boat when you are on your own). I will be heading out with him again to my local lake (Lewisville) at the end of April
I was able to go out with James and a buddy on Fork Friday. I was only able to fish one day due to a wedding. I will say that 1 day was the most educational day on the water I have ever had. James was able to show us what would have taken years to figure out on my own. It was excellent to see how to figure out post front conditions especially since you can't depict what the weather will do on tournament day. I gained a ton of confidence and will be able to cut out a lot of wasted time on the water. If you can book a trip it is a no brainer. Click the link on my signature to see some of the photos of the trip.
Hey James congrats to you and your client on the big fish today Thanks again for taking the time to call me back and talk to me tonight about the trip Look forward to meeting up with you Thanks again Eddie

YEAH HE IS THAT GOOD!!!!!!

I got to fish with James Biggs today, and guys, there is a reason there is 6 pages here of nothing but very happy customers! It was amazing to say the least, worth twice as much as what I paid.
The conditions were not ideal, but James had a pattern started I think a whole 5 minutes into the day. We caught fish literally all day, some nice ones, and he caught several over 4, and about a 7 pounder!
I wanted to learn how to pattern fish on any given day, and I now have ton more confidence that I can do that. The real beauty is how simple he made it to learn, and the tackle tips and tricks were awesome, it will save me a ton of money from here on out.
His teaching trips are worth more than I can explain here, if you are on the fence about spending the money, don't hesitate. He stays booked out for a reason, it is best time I've had on the water in many years. And I can't wait to get back out and apply what he taught me. He's just great people, I had a blast, and can't wait for next time! Thanks again James!
Fished last week with James. I'm a novice and find it so refreshing he's willing to spend time with me. 2nd trip with him and I've learned so much. I still have a long long way to go, but getting better with a large thanks to James. Going out tomorrow to practice what I've learned. James knows how to find the big ones.
Got to fish with James for the first time today. Had an awesome time and learned a TON! We were catching fish today in ways I would have never thought of. Definitely worth your time to book a trip with him. Awesome guy with a lot to teach. I'll definitely be a better fisherman next time I'm on the water alone! Thanks James!
Ditto to what's been said. A day in the boat with James and you'll be constantly learning something. I can't tell you how impressed I was. Much more than a "guide trip", this was a day of instruction on the water. Its worth the time and money!
Bruce Allen and I sponsored a young man from Belgium this month of Aug.. Stijn and I went out with Mr. Biggs yesterday and had a great time. I truly appreciate your time spent with him and his learning experiences will help him catch fish for years to come.
Sorry I could not get the picture you sent to my phone to load. Please post it if you like. This one is of our best fish.

Went fishing with James last week on Squaw. Best guided trip I've been on. Learned more on one trip with James than all other Guide trips I've been on, put together. Already booked another trip. And looking forward to upping my game even more. Thanks again James.
I just took my 2nd trip with James. Both trips have been absolutely eye opening. We had tough conditions with 30+ mph winds but still caught them well. I’ve always struggled out deep but James does a great job of simplifying what he is looking for and why the fish will be there. After catching many fish I feel more comfortable now that ever. He is super easy to talk to and is full of knowledge.
Since my 1st trip last year I have boated so many fish that I know I wouldn’t have caught before. Patterning fish has been easier and my tackle has been weeded out and simplified. Last spring my daughter won a 140 kid fishing derby on his drop shot set-up. She had the top 5 fish in her age group. My attention to detail and my confidence is definitely at an all-time high. His service will truly make you a better fisherman so why wouldn’t you book a trip? I will be back.
Also booking 1/2 price($200)private lake trips near comanche tx. There are a few 15-300 acre lakes out there. It's a great way to learn new techniques while catching fish.
Finally took the plunge and did a trip with James today. I've been having problems catching lately and today was terrible conditions. James broke down lakes and explained what I needed to do at a level that even I could understand. I didn't catch many but considering the conditions, I thought it was a much better day than normal. Have me the confidence to feel that I'll be able to go out there again and will catch fish regardless of the conditions.
I'll admit after previous experience with guides, I was skeptical but James is the real deal. If you struggle them you should really call James.
Would be nice. I expected to hear back from him by now. No such luck.
It's unusual for him not to answer by the next day on a PM from here. He is a fireman and maybe had to work or the PM didn't go thru. I have his number and can text him and let him know he is missing a message from you if you'd like. I went back out today to try everything that he showed me. I caught about 15 fish, missed the hook set on a few and had a big one break me off. I'm a believer for sure.
I have his number and we've had a few conversations but some things fell through and he has since gone MIA. Don't feel it's my obligation to chase him down either.
James took me out to a good size lake last week to work on establishing a pattern. He hadn't been to this lake in 5 years. It was amazing how fast he worked to put a pattern together. He got us dialed in within just a few hours. We then replicated that pattern all over the lake and caught them at about every stop. We were so dialed in he called his shot multiple times. We ended with around 25 keepers and had well over a 20# bag.
His service is worth every penny and has been truly eye opening.
James Bigg’s style of guiding is not what most would think of as a guided trip. It’ a classroom on the water, in the truck and at the ramp. Anglers that want clarity to the bass fishing puzzle owe it to themselves to spend a day or two or three with him. Thank you James for being great instructor and a heck of a good guy.
Sorry about that Ranger 1, I was already book on the dates you asked about.
I apologize for forgetting to respond in a timely manor to anyone. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the questions. I want everyone that contacts me to become a better, more confident angler.
I fished with James today and was very impressed with his ability to find fish and catch fish with a variety of techniques. I learned some things on a lake I fish multiple times per week and can't wait to try them on my own. I highly recommend his services to anyone wanting to further their understanding of this obsession that we all seem to have. Unfortunately just loaded my cart at tackle warehouse...again!
A little late review, but I fished with James back in the later half of the fall, he's got a wealth of knowledge to teach. He really helped me narrow down the waters to focus on depending on the season, and it's a blast to go out now and be much more proficient with my day on the water. Went from spending all day casting at every section of the bank to being able to cut out a lot of water that isn't going to produce.
Had the chance to go on a teach trip with James on 5-5-18 to help me learn the seasonal patterns and to help prepare me for a tournament the next weekend on that same lake. I have never been to this lake and James said it had been about 5 years since he had been on this lake. So I pick up James at the ramp around 10:00 am and we spend about the first hour just talking about patterns and where the bass should be and after researching the lake map he picks a starting spot on a main lake point and right away I flip a 3-4 lber in the boat!! Then James caught a few more and he explained to me about key structure and how the bass were relating to it. So for the next few hours we found multiple spots with the key structure and we caught them at every stop and had caught around a 13-15lb bag by 2:30pm!! So I’m feeling really confident going into the tournament last Saturday and this would be my first time back out since my trip with James and all I can say is WOW!!!! I went from being an angler that was lucky to catch a limit to BOATING AROUND 50 FISH! during my tournament and winning a check that paid for my trip with James!!!! Highly recommended!! Thanks for your help James
We fished with James today and were NOT disappointed. We specifically asked James to school us on Summertime bass fishing in deeper water. He did a little better than that. His hour long summary of Bass fishing through all 4 seasons helped us understand why bass are where they are at certain times and what to do about it. Prior to our launching he took one look at our lake and predicted several things: 1. Bass would most likely NOT be off shore very deep. 2. There should be a lot of suspended fish. Both predictions were spot on. He then explained what we were going to do under these conditions and caught fish at the very first stop.
James took the time to show us what to look for offshore in deeper water for the time when the bass will be there beginning in the next few weeks and continuing through the hot Summer months.
On a good day we normally catch 10-15 bass with maybe 1 over. With James today we caught at least 30 bass with 3 overs and we weren't even trying. I can't wait to get back on the water and practice what he taught us today.
I highly recommend booking "Coach" Biggs if you want to improve your Bass fishing.
Ever since I fished with James, fish have been jumping into my boat without me even casting a line out. The price of my boat has also doubled in its worth since he’s stepped foot in it. There won’t ever be a day I get skunked again after just 2 trips with him! Catching 20 fish in an hour would be considered a slow day for him.. On a real note, he definitely helps you learn a years worth of fishing in just a few short hours. He helps the average angler start thinking and fishing like a pro. Looking forward to booking him again in the future. 10/10 recommend.
If you want to learn from a former Touring Pro how to break down a lake quick, read electronics & set them up, understand offshore fishing, year round seasonal patterns or just a particularly body of water then send me a PM. Texoma Lewisville Eagle Mountain Cedar Creek Squaw Creek or just about anywhere else then hit me up! If you are a high school angler just getting started or a seasoned tournament angler just trying to grow or get your head right, I can help. Slots limited quality over quantity
Fished on Squaw with James today and his knowledge is worth every penny. He got me started 4 years ago and slowly progressing each year. Every time I go with him I learn a new technique and how to apply it. I'd never even heard of a Ned before but it was a great way to fish brush. Fish were scattered all day, but we still boated probably 30. Best thing with James is he knows how to find the bigger fish. Everyone was saying Squaw only had small fish, but he boated several over 5 and I got a few in the 4 range. Not the biggest I've caught but a great day in January when it's 30 degrees at launch. He'll teach you how to break down a lake, what to use when, and skills you can use the rest of your life. -- thx James.
Decided to book ANOTHER trip with James. Wanted to learn a lake i've never been on and see his approach during the spawn. I've been on a lot of guide trips where i catch fish, but today i learned why they are there and how to pattern them. Didn't take long for him to figure it out. As a bonus, at lunch he offered to take me to another lake near by and do the same thing. So we loaded the boat and headed to the other lake. The fish were doing something a little different than the first lake, but we figured them out and were able to duplicate it all over the lake. Today i learned "HOW" to catch fish and "why" they are where they are. Again i was blown away at the the information he shared. I've been on guide trips on lake fork and Ray roberts, at least 15. And both trips with James i learned more than i ever did on any other trip. Best money i ever spent on a guide.
We did our annual trip with James last week. We spent the day on a large lake putting together a pattern. James had them dialed in quickly. We used that pattern all over the lake. Whenever the bite would slow he would make a minor adjustment and we were back on em. Our count at the end of the day was 63 bass.
Agree with all the positives from a trip with James. I've fished the same lake for 20 years and after one trip with James, I added several new areas and techniques that I would never have thought of before. And most of them were very simple and right in front of me the whole time. An added bonus was the electronics tutorial...I had bought a new boat and didn't understand how to use my new electronics, i.e. how to interpret what I was seeing on sidescan or how to properly mark an underwater structure. James did all of the above. Will definitely book more trips but on some of the other area lakes.
I fished with James 3 days ago on a lake that I struggle to put together a decent sack. After spending some time talking about seasonal patterns and being entertained by locals wanting to share favorite hot spots and lures we launched my boat and went catching. James asked me what a successful day would be to me. I said 20 to 30 fish and a limit that would compete for a win. We reached both goals. Today I took the strategy and a technique I learned from James to a different lake, in less than two hours I had 5 fish for 13+. I caught more throughout the afternoon that would have culled to a 15 - 16 lb sack. James is the reel deal, he has a lot of class. Spending time fishing with him I could tell he really enjoys sharing his knowledge and wanted me to leave the lake a better and more confident bass fisherman.. Thank you James
If you need your electronics set up or an offshore class, hit me up!
James recently found out I work very closely with your uncle! For years now he consistently talked about his nephew and about how good of a fisherman you were. Took me 3 years to figure out and put two and two together to realize who he was actually talking about!
Went out with James to a very popular tournament lake. We didn't launch until after 10am and were into fish less that 100 yards from the ramp. We ended up boating 50 bass. It was very rare that we stopped at a place and didn't get bit. 10 bass an hour in the middle of the day will give you a lot of confidence. Can't wait for my next tournament there.
i refuse to plug this guy again. 😆 but i will say we went fishing saturday evening and he had around 25lbs in about 3 hrs of fishing on a metroplex lake. crazy thing is his approach is so simple and its basic fishing! thx james and i’ll see you again in october.

I’m gonna add my name to the list of students helped out my Jame’s tremendous teaching. We spent several hours learning about lures/patterns/searching before fishing for a few hours. I feel much more confident going forward! The best thing in my opinion is how he simplifies everything (including your tackle and what you DON’T need)
I've been reading these great reviews for years. Finally pulled the trigger and met up with James, yesterday. It was much more than I'd even hoped for. Do yourself a favor, go read each and every review on here and then get in line.

He’s legit, fished with him yesterday. He can break down a lake and help establish a pattern as good as anyone I’ve fished with. Fun day at Texoma!
Update: from earlier review. First time bass fishing since my day spent with James on Halloween day. I know I would not have been fishing the way I was had I not met you. Thanks again!

If you are just getting back into fishing like me or want to improve quickly, call James. I've been bass fishing my whole life and tournaments most of it. I still learn tons from him and since I don't know the lakes real well, it gives me an opportunity to see how a true touring pro breaks down a body of water. This is my second class with him. The first one is classroom training learning the fundamentals of his system and half the day fishing. Got to ride in his new awesome Bullet. We fished Grapevine Tuesday right after the cold front with bluebird skies and had 21-22 lbs for our best 5 including my PB smallmouth at 4 lbs. We determined I'm an overthinker and I don't move around the lake enough looking for fish. He helped with that and now I feel more confident than ever. He's less expensive than a full day guide and you don't just catch fish, he teaches you when, where, and why while doing it. He's also a great guy. I've already booked with him again in June to get better at offshore fishing.
Went out with James today to learn more about offshore. Wow is all I can say. Our best 5 went 25 lbs and we only fished for about 5 1/2 hours. Not only is he a great teacher, but you learn confidence in what he's teaching you. Nothing like explaining what to do and then catching good fish right after that. I had one today that I set the hook on and the fish didn't budge, took off and broke my line. He's cheaper than a guide, but you actually learn and it's not about catching fish, but every time we've gone out we have definitely caught them. Here's some picks. Ignore the fat guy.
I have decided to start a YouTube channel. It will have blogging tournaments, hunting, bass fishing tips & other shenanigans I can get myself into. Please subscribe I appreciate the support & will be coming out with some content soon. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCGAhxafzxuF7IGbZYKefVGA
subscribed and hi James been awhile. When he first took me I knew absolutely nothing and had one spinning rod. Now too many rods to think about and can fish pretty much all the main presentations. Only negative is now all my $$$ goes to boats and tackle. He got me started and my 1st 5lber and that's all it took. Great teacher.
Finally got on the water with James last week to learn more about offshore fishing. I can’t begin to tell you how much I learned. I love that these trips are more than just a guide trip, he teaches you how to find these fish and how to catch them. Our best 5 would have went around 27 lbs(well above even my wildest dreams), and we caught fish all day. It was no wind bluebird sky most of the day, but we still had a great day. If you are struggling to catch fish, give James a call.
Had a productive trip with James yesterday. Second time out with him. Different lake this time. Mainly wanted to learn more about my electronics which he is great with. Especially if you have Lowrance. In addition to helping me with all the settings on my Live units, we marked several spots, fished them, caught fish, and discussed how the patterns would change during the year. Specific example: I've fished a particular boat ramp on this lake MANY MANY times with limited success. James showed me the "sweet spot" on this ramp was actually 20 yards past the end of the ramp. I had been sitting on top of the sweet spot this whole time and not knowing it. I would highly recommend a trip with James.
Well, I had finally read enough about Camelot Bell on TFF and called up my buddy and teacher of all things fishing, James Biggs, and said let's do this. He was all in!!!
I booked us at Camelot Bell to fish both lakes and see if we could memorialize my entry to the elusive DD club.
Despite the heat we arrived around 3pm on Wed and headed straight to Wolf Pack and fished until dark. James being the square bill guru he is hooked into a 10.7lb fish and it was amazing to watch in person. If you go to his YouTube page you will see footage of the catch. We also caught other solid fish before dark, but the DD was the highlight.
On Thurs. we were on Camelot Bell around 8am and fished until lunch catching a handful of good fish, but were still determined to find my DD. We made a move back over to Wolfpack and I don't think I will forget the very first cast James makes with his trusty square bill and hooks into a 6+lb fish and we could not help but to giggle...it was getting stupid at this point at the big fish we were catching. Don't get me wrong these lakes don't just give up DD fish or any fish for that matter....it takes skill and determination and that's why I had James "the stick" Biggs with me.
Not long after a couple more fish we were casting over submerged trees both using smaller square bills and we hooked two fish simultaneously....I could not freakin' believe we both had two giant fish on. Unfortunately, James' fish came unbuttoned, but I was still hooked up and when the fish surfaced we both knew the DD club was about to happen. James came to the back with net in hand hoping to get this fish landed.
Needless to say he came thru and I joined the DD club.
I've known and fished with James since 2016 and I always enjoy my trips with him. A true gem of a fisherman who knows how to teach and develop the confidence and desire to pursue the fishing game.
Game changer. I spent the day with James last week and had my best day every 2 days later. I have a more confident direct and simpler way to locate and catch fish. Still have a ton to learn so I will re book but last weeks lesson was worth every cent.
I can not praise James enough for his teaching and genuiness that was showed this this weekend. I booked with James as a surprise for my 14yr old son and boy he didn't disappoint. His simplistic approach to fishing and how he teaches it was an eye opener for sure. He was able to take the groundwork that my son already had and hone it down further with simple tweaks to his mechanics where the changes were noticeable within minutes. It is refreshing to deal with someone who shares the same core values in life when it comes to faith, family, & fishing. My son and I have already made plans to book another "season" with James, which everyone one should do.
HUGE Thanks to James Biggs. If your thinking about doing this class but not pulling the trigger your missing out! After reading his reviews and watching this forum I decided it was time. We all think were already good and dont need to learn. Man was I wrong. It was exactly what I hoped. James is super friendly and a great teacher. We met in the morning at the discussed location so he could sit down and do a class for the first 2-3 hours going over lures, seasons, water temps, patterns, breaking down lakes etc. Again things we think or may already know. BUT, he will simplify this and I promise teach you stuff you were missing. After class we headed to the lake to put all that information to work. Also for me to understand my graphs and making sure they are setup correctly. I'm not a Tech savvy guy by any means but I've been watching every video I can. Again James made this very easy to follow. We launch the boat and he shares his plan of attack. Well just my luck we turn on the electronics and they are not working correctly. So I'm thinking there goes what i was really hoping to take from scheduling James. (Electronic knowledge) I was dead wrong he immediately went into Tech mode to see if we could diagnose the issue. Ended up getting everything rebooted and working however it still seems like I have a transducer going bad. Finally let's go fish. He pulls me up to the first high percentage spot he would go to for these conditions per the class information. He tells me to grab a specific bait and use the graph as he just shown me. First cast 3-3.5lber. Hes back working on console graph and laughing says"Your welcome " Then he asked what I wanted to learn or do to complete the day which was about an hour. My response was running to the areas he stated in class and showing what to look for and seeing it on the graph. It wasn't about putting a bait in the water and catching fish. At least not this trip. I have already scheduled another class for that.
MAKE THE CALL AND YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!!

I would like to get in touch with with James but I am not on Facebook. I don't mine giving my number for him to call me. please pass my info to James . Thank you 817-905-6299
Yesterday I had the pleasure and honor to meet and fish with James Biggs. It's not every day one gets to meet a person who is willing and very knowledgeable to take the time to share and teach the art of bass fishing. Growing up in Louisiana I thought I knew all there was about bass fishing, was I WRONG. James spent three yes three hours going through all the methods, lures, lines, rods, reels, and time of year to catch bass. Honestly, I was shocked as to how much I did not know. Yes, I was one of those fishermen that have tunnel vison that beat the banks and docks. But when James applied the science and application of how to break apart targets it all became clear. Then went to the lake and applied all that he taught me, I began to understand, caught bass that I never thought possible, and my confidence went through the roof. I could go on and on about how he made everything simple and how I over though things when fishing. To everyone who reads this review you owe it to yourself to get in touch with James and book a trip and his valuable teaching class of bass fishing. If I can go catch bass like we did, I know everyone who reads this will do even better. I can now call myself a true bass fisherman. Before my time with James, I had the tools but not the talent. That changed and already planning on going with James again. His teaching knowledge is priceless. Why even my wife after listening to his presentation wants to go fishing. We all know that a plus. Thank you, James. Not only did I learn a great deal, but I also met a friend.
