Good for him. But this makes me wonder how often something like this may happen and we NOT hear about it. Even in the Major League like Menendez. Does kind of make you wonder, I remember a few years ago skeet reese got DQ'd for finding a 6th fish in his livewell AFTER the the weigh-in He supposedly turned himself in but who knows what really went down.

He did the right thing, why cast a shadow over it. We as natural men usually don't immediately recognize wrong doing and confess sin. It often takes a while for God to work on us and for us to humble ourselves enough to make things right. What a cool story! It always pays in ways that really count to do the right thing! I agree with this rather than the downer side of thinking.. He got excited like many of us do, stuff happens.. Any wrong has been righted, why always try to tear something good down. That's whats wrong with a lot of things these days imo.. +1

Not a BASS event by any stretch of the imagination but Dustin Hobbs and I DQ'd ourselves after winning and passing a polygraph at Fork in a JCO event.
We had six fish in the well and were culling just before weigh-in at the dock. Big Dummy Me didn't read the rules. I thought since it was a team event we could have ten fish in the well up until we went to weigh-in. LOL

I'll tell you who I find to be the villain in this situation and all situations like it; the state of Wisconsin. I understand rules against snagging but using a jerkbait with a bunch of trebles on it IS NOT snagging!
Stupid blanket application of a law! Application of law should be done specifically not all inclusive, for a matter of convenience. Snagging laws were written to prevent mortally wounding fish at bottlenecks, dams, and spawning migration not because a guy catches a fish that was hooked in the mouth, shook the bait, and ended up stuck in the top of the nose when landed.
Stupid law, lazy government, and another unnecessary restriction! JMHO!

LOL I did the same thing. We caught a fish with one minute left to check in and I told my partner just throw it in the live well and we will cull it after we pass through check in.
