Never see any post talking about Baffin Bay, does anyone out there ever fish it and if so, what are your results. I'm thinking of going there this fall. I just wondering if it's worth the trip or not.
Thanks

Yeah, its worth it. I'd be very careful if you are taking that boat in the picture, its shallow and the rocks in Baffin have taken out countless lower units on careless boaters. This fishing is outstanding however.

I'd make sure your insurance is current before you launch that tuna schooner.

Baffin can be treacherous and cause a very bad day on someone who has a deep running boat (one in your sig) and doesn't know how to get around in it.

Man up. Fight the GOOD fight.

Actually, this is a shallow running bay boat I can run in 15" of water. bt, I do know guys that have taken the same boat out 65 miles fishing and feel very comfortable doing so. But, I do appreciate your input and after reading all of the post I think that Its best for me to stick to Aranasas pass.

Thanks for your input

watch for Baffin rocks especially at low tide, when high tide I have never had a problem. Lots of rocks on entrance it Baffin when hogging the King ranch shore line, espically between the Island spoils and KR shore line. Also few shallow rock on south side of Baffin and KR shore Line, where the windmills are. Chain of rocks needs some watching.

Run slow until you get used to the area.

I'm headed to Port A next week and was hoping to find a boat to take me to Baffin Bay. Anyone suggest any guides for that area?

Aubrey Black would be my choice. Lots of good guides down there.

swing over to marker 37 or the bluff and grab a business card from the 3500 guides that fish baffin. check on 2cool, bound to be able to find a guide,

glad you decided not to take your boat down there, bring along a handheld gps, and save the trails, that way if you decide to go back you can bring your boat and have a little piece of mind, make sure to let him know what youre doing though or it may get weird...
