Had my first good trip since May on Saturday evening. . . . .got on the water about 6:30pm, and 25+ stripers by dark. No giants, but no Sandies either . . . all good box fish with a couple over 20". They were in 2-4 fow, and you would see one bust every once in a while, but they were thick up against the bank. We were throwing pencil poppers and cohos. . .they didn't seem to picky.

After the last couple of month's I wasn't sure if there were enough fish left in the lake to put a good school together . . .. but last weekend I saw about 2 acres of fish blowing up in 65 fow. It was a good school of good fish (we caught a couple up to 7-8lbs) . . . and they were really getting after it. To put in perspective, I saw them from about 1/2 mile away in a 20mph wind, but they were VERY skittish . . .they scattered when the boat got within 50 yards.

Anyway, hopefully this cooler weather will get them back in some kind of pattern.

Anyone can catch a lot of fish when they're hungry . . . . My favorite days are the ones where the fish don't want to eat, but I make 'em do it anyway.
