I have been in contact with HOW about starting a chapter in my area and they are interested in representation in the Fort Hood area. I need help from at least 3 more people interested in a leadership role to get the ball moving. Please let me know if anyone in the community is interested. Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg - thank you for spearheading this effort. If we can help you in any way please let me know. We are Mariner Sails in Dallas, I know we're not nearby but maybe we can help with donations for fundraisers and other things. Good luck in your efforts and I'll try to steer a few folks your way.

Sincerely
Aris Tsamis

Greg, I am in Fort Worth and I have several kayaks that I can make available. I am a veteran and would be delighted to help you if I can. It seems my attempt to work with a HOW chapter in the Dallas Fort Worth area didn't need anybody else working with them. Let me know if I can help.

I am a long way from you but would be willing to lend a hand until you can get a slate of volunteers from your area.

Quick update for anyone who may be interested:

The leadership team is set for the chapter. Myself (Greg Sterley), Chris Payne, Steve O'Neal, Rick Irving and Elliot Youngsrom will be leading the efforts.

Looking for any additional support from the community for volunteers or businesses that would like to help us out.

We will be using the winter time to plan and prepare for our first event in the spring time, hopefully in March. So stay tuned and let us know if anyone would like to lend a hand. Thanks to everyone who has already offered.

Congratulations Greg on taking the lead on the Fort Hood Heroes on the Water chapter. The Fort Hood HOW is now an official Heroes on the Water Group. I am looking forward to working with you as we serve those who have given so much in Service to Our Great Country! I know without a doubt the Kayak Fishing community and the Kayak and Fishing industry will give the Fort Hood Heroes on the Water an amazing amount of support!
Thank You Greg for pulling all of it together and getting the Fort Hood Heroes on the Water up and running!

I really like seeing this grow. I just heard about HOW a couple of weeks ago and now it seems to growing quite well. I actually heard about running into the north east oklahoma chapter director at a gas station in Paris Tx. They where on there way home from a tournament. Great guys.
