For a first time kayak bass fishing trip on Fork, where would be a good place to put in?

In the water... depends on conditions. A cool front is coming in this weekend so I would focus on points and cover. The bait fish will be out so I would be looking for weed lines or pads. Especially in the morning hours. Move out to the points in deeper water and start cranking or swim baits. let the wind tell you which side to put it on. If the wind is still out of the south, go north... and visa versa.

That's what I would do if I was going this weekend.

This time of year I focus on the deeper water fish on roadbeds, points, pond dams, humps and channel ledges as they are less affected by the cold fronts. Drop shot, crankbait or jigging spoons if they are suspending carolina rig and football jigs if they are hugging the bottom.

The Big Splash (McDonald's) tournament is this weekend. Be careful if your going out this weekend.

Thanks all. And what marina or launch area would be good for a first timer to check out Fork?

I prefer hideaway harbor this time of year, they usually charge a launch fee.
