I have a new SHO 225 and am a little confused about whether or not I should be using a fuel additive like Biobor etc. The dealer said to use ring free and nothing else. A buddy of mine said his dealer in Oklahoma said to use Biobor and Ring free. Yamaha sent me info saying to use their fuel conditioner. Is there a concenus of opinion on this?

I'm gonna throw another option in the mix. The Lucas Oil fuel stabilizer works great for me and I can definitely tell a difference from when I do and don't use it.

If I had a new SHO, I would be using ring free only.

Ringfree is some good stuff. Personally I have never seen an additive clean like ringfree will. For fuel/water issues startron is the best. We dose every tank at the dealership with startron. Misconception about the warranty regarding additives is. Customers try adding stuff to the fuel as a miracle worker. 98% of the time it is to late. Bad fuel is not warranty. Reminded Warranty is the coverage of manufacture defect. Personally my engines only receive Startron time to time because of ethanol. I change my water separator annually along with carrying a spare. If you are burning all of the gas or at least 90% of it on a 2 week bases, you will be fine.

P.S. the sho likes premium, but will be fine on regular.
