A 6' disc that uses a trolling motor will compete against Bass Hunters. Unfortunately at 6' wide, it won't fit in a pickup bed easily so transportation wil be an issue. It is also a solo boat which can be limiting. The solo boat market is dominated by kayaks. It is a neat idea that won't take off.

I thought when I first saw a photo of one of these that it was a joke, that someone had taken a satellite dish or something and converted it.

I predict it won't sell . . . regardless of its fishing attributes. I mentioned elsewhere that the iconic genius, Buckminster Fuller, most of you too young to remember him, invented the Geodesic Dome and predicted, because of its efficiencies, that it would soon become the standard for residential and commercial buildings. Not so much.

We might overlook how much our kayaks possess sex or curb appeal, that we are drawn to our vessels not only for performance issues but also visual reasons. If not, Harley Davidsons would have gone out of business in favor of Japanese bikes decades ago.

I may have to eat my words, but this thing will disappear sooner or later.

Yes, PowerLizard, it has little effective advantage over a Bass Hunter or a small jon boat with a swivel seat.

The main problem I see with the design is that it sits way too high out of the water.
Even the slightest breeze will have you flying across the lake and spinning you around having you to constantly spinning around in your swivel chair to stay on target with the shoreline or getting you disoriented of where you were casting.
I'm sure it would be similar to fishing out of a one man pond boat, and I've owned a pond boat in the past, and if kayaks would have been around and popular back then as they are now I would not have bought it. Too bulky, too slow, and catches the slightest bit of wind.
I think I used that little bass buster boat about three times and sold it.
Also if you notice with this craft in every video I've seen, none of the people are wearing a pfd. If ever you were in need of one it would be on one of these because if you fell in you would never be able to catch up to it as the wind drifted it away from you with nothing to grab or hold onto. Really dumb advertising!
That said, it will get you off the shoreline but just invest in an anchor and wear your PFD.

Agree with the wind concerns. With a high fishing position and disk shaped hull, Texas wind would push you off target on a regular basis. They also look difficult to paddle if your battery goes out.

These would be perfect for low wind/low current environments: protected/sheltered coastal flats, bayous of Louisianna.

interesting concept......control in the wind and fitting in the back of a truck are issues that come to mind.....I'd have to see it and fish out of it before I could really decide on it though.

At 125 pounds (without battery or trolling motor) and 6 feet diameter, it seems really big and bulky for a solo boat. It seems like it would be a challenge to transport and launch when you're fishing alone.

But it is an interesting idea.

I'm going to say just from my own experience a one or two man pond boat would be easier to fish out of, and handle in and out of the water, fit better in the bed of a pickup truck, and easier on the pocket book.

That said a kayak blow them both away!....BOOOOOM!
