about 2 3/8" long and about 1/2" in diameter. The lead is cut down on each big end for the spring to ride in and one end is attached to the center wire.

It could be a method feeder and used for carp.The wire looks designed to hold the bait(method mix). I have never seen this model before.The inline method feeders where your line runs through the method feeder and attaches to a swivel that your hooklink is attached to is most popular for carp fishing amongst the anglers I know.
