A short stubby version with a short shank wide gap hook would be nice.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

the color looks like butterscotch and goldish bunrt orange. kind of an odd color combo but its in my top 3 baits. sometimes they want a hair jig, so it would be nice to have one. or 20 ha

I think Skip has some Texas Toast chenille. Pepop may have something that would work. I had a request to make a jig to match a Bobby Garland Cajun' Cricket, which to me, is about the same as Texas Toast. My customer seems to be happy with my take on it, he's bought several dozen.

I don't have any Texas Toast either. I threw this one together from your picture though.

I have to get in my tying room in a little while, but think I know how to do this one! Let me check.
Do you have a preference as to what kind of hair? Kip tail or Bucktail or maybe fox? Maybe a mix, let me just look!

I don't do jigs for other people, but think that would be easy. On a lot of jigs don't forget the use of permanent markers are a big help.

Hey here is one I just did, but just grabbed a jig head that was a reject because no collar on it and it's just been laying there for a long time. So I just got into my Kip Tail and got some Fl Yellow and some Rootbeer hair out and tied it. For a hair jig I feel this is very close. I am sure there are several guys here that can do this for you. Now if I looked hard at my Kip Tails (have a lot) and maybe even Buck tails along with other types of hair one could get closer?? Just not sure this is not close enough. Skip

those are some good examples. im thinking if the pregnant minnow shape of the plastic could be mimiced more on the hair jig it will make a big difference

I am not going to try doing one, but from my bootleg days long ago I think this needs to be a thick hair jig that is put in shape by trimming. The body will be simple but to do the tail it will take some skill. Then a simple finish with permanent marker after all when you steal a ideal do a good job.

Really Larry I don't think it has to be that accurate to work as a substitute in hair, but maybe that is just my thinking? Skip

That is some what Texas thinking, A jig is part color but the real thing is the movement in the water, and the movement it works the water. There is jigs that will fish on there looks, but if you look at the jig that is posted it is not that type. The body and tail are for moving the water and look like a bait fish swimming. The action of this jig is the whole thing and I do not think the tail can be done with hair. A jig is for catching fish, not to look pretty. The jig above looks like one of Robert's and this is the first time I have ever looked at it up close, never fished it. Looks like it should do the job.
