I have a 2004 model Lund Explorer with a 75 Mercury motor. The main hydraulic cylinder shaft leaks where it goes into the housing. I had this same problem at the end of last year and I had a shop repair it. It wasn't cheap to get it fixed. It never leaked a drop for the first 10 years and I assumed after I had it fixed it would last longer then 1 year. Is there a good place in or near Arlington that I can trust to fix this right? Or how hard would it be to fix this myself? The motor works fine but I'm getting tired of adding fluid to it every time I go to the lake.

Yes you can do it yourself. My guess is that they didn't replace the wiper and the seal. I worked on same thing early this year and had to get seals for this unit from Mercury dealer. Get your model # and serial # and call a local Merc dealer. I know Boats.net doesn`t have the seals.

Boats.net seems to have the parts. What part are you talking about?

They normally start leaking at the seal at the top cap on the shock rod. A Mercury item
