I will be in Gonzales Tx for a couple of days next week. I've not been there before. I would like to know how the fishing is in the that area. The river or local lakes if any, suitable for bank fishing. I don't discriminate when it comes to fishing, even large blue gills would do me just fine. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Very limited bank fishing. Lake Wood has some bank fishing, and Independence Park has about 2 miles of public access but rough steep banks. The area just below the Gonzales Dam is public access.

I would go basic. Fish worms with a mid size hook. It's a guarantee for fish. Good luck
