I recall this forum having alot more reports in the past.

Is it just due to the water levels this year or what. Its very quite in here lately.

September is my slowest month. I took 3 out yesterday and we only caught 20 in half a day - not much to report. We could see fish on the deeper structure, and whereas they have been biting as of a couple of weeks ago, now they have lock-jaw, and we wasted too much time pursuing them. The fish we did catch were shallow (10 to 16 fow), which typically starts earlier in August, but seems to be occurring later this year.

Here's my take for what its worth. I think that the sport of fishing for sandies and hybrids has had explosive growth on our area lakes in the last five years. Just look at how many bass boats are always up for sale. Couple all that with the improvement in technology on the boats (fish finders and IPilots), with more fish being caught and crowded conditions, fishermen are more reluctant to spread the word on how good the fishing can be on a particular day on a particular lake. The guides and better fisherman are tired of being swarmed by other boats along with the hot spots getting pounded by so many different boats. Not to mention how rude some people can be on the lakes and forums.
Many of the guides have put their time in posting on Facebook and less time on TFF.
All things change and TFF unfortunately is not at all what it once was.

The above 100%, fishing is great here, had 10 trips in 2-1/2 weeks here none bad, all good. Thought of going today pm, tomorrow and Thursday. Mostly on structure from 9-35' water, some schooling, birds showing up too. Mostly a casted slab bite, chartreuse and white best mid size.

I'm joining the LadyFish ProTour after a great trip to Bolivar! I dominated LadyFish in 8' of water with ShaZam PunchBait and PopN Cork! I hear they are closing Lake Tawakoni for the Fall & Winter?

Glad to hear I am not the only one having trouble catching fish. I thought I might have had some kind of funk in the boat or something. Its been pretty slow the last few trips out , with very few fish caught.

It is alway slow this time of the year. Dove season and hunters getting ready for deer season.

I fully agree with this statement! TFF just three years ago had a wealth of information that I was able to use go out and actually have a productive day....here lately it's what they caught and nothing else...but I do understand why as I have fallen under the same path is a lot of folks on here have fished out several spots that I have mentioned and now no fish are in some of these spots! Yes I mostly bank fish, but this does apply to boaters as well! It's a new attitude in culture that someone owes them something and just expect someone to point them the way and never say thank you.....anywho that's my take on this matter but to those out there trying to make a living doing what you do Godspeed and and adapting to a new mentality is challenging!

Feesh the trail race from a flooded impoundment , fish are skinny and need harvested. Good game management.

I agree with go fish now only add one thing. All of what he said adds up to less fish. People have been catching limits and keeping them. Also you have a mortality rate when you catch fish and release them. I think there are just fewer fish in some places. The last 3 times I have been on BB, I have caught 3 fish. Marked fish, but not bunched up. Lots of bait everywhere. I was fish with shad of all sizes and still couldn't catch fish. I think that with all of the drought and people with better electronics that there are just fewer of all species, except catfish and I don't fish for them. My 2 cents.

Test the troll factor for yourself & you will become a believer real quick! Post pics, coordinates, lure & depth then go out Saturday & watch the parade. People view this forum as a way to avoid all the dirty work involved with consistent catching & use it as a electronic guide so they can video & boast. Challenge of finding, then catching is not existent in this internet society. Btw- all this should be disregarded because of my # of posts- if you do not brag post- you do not know how to fish ?
