Thank you richg and gar. Yes, I made the poling platform and the rod holders as well as the center console, the floors, decks, throttle extension on the outboard and the casting platform ( which isn't in this photo). Needless to say I've spent way to much time and money on the boat but it sure is fun to fish out of.

i built the platform out of 1 3/4" galvanized conduit i bought at Home Depot. I borrowed a pipe bender from an electrician buddy of mine to make the bends - i bent the pipe closer to the center then used a chop saw to cut it at the angle i wanted.

I mounted it thru the transom with stainless steel bolts and teflon nuts. i filled the thru holes with silicone to keep it from leaking. I cut out some angel iron to use for support braces on the inside of the transom.

I made the top out of 3/4" plywood, painted and lacquered it (to water proof it) and glued carpet on it with marine glue. I countered bored holes and glued carriage bolts thru the plywood for a flush surface, so they wouldn't rub thru the carpet.

I put several coats of paint and spray lacquer on it before mounting the top on.

That,s it. Not complicated at all, just time consuming. I do keep my boat in my shop but i have had the platform on my boat for nine years now and it still works great. i have to do a little spot sanding and repainting every couple of years (that saltwater is tough on stuff)but that's about all the maintenance. Hope this helps.
