I went there today and got skunked!!! I used shad and worms that lead me to nothing. Any help?

Take some punch bait with you next time and fish the south east end end of park with corks.

My is the fish were not there, if they were both shad and worms should catch you some channel cats. I fished at the point about a month and a half ago they were in the partially submerged willows, using nightcrawlers on 1.0 octopus hook in less than 2 fow, channel cats were attacking the worms aggressively... I managed to landed a dozen or so in about one hour...tired of snagging so I quit. You find an opening then cast your rig to there and be quick to reel em in or you'd get snagged... each time I waded in to un-snag my rig I'd see the willows shook as cats dispersed...

In the two weeks b4 last, i was catching a bunch channel cats on threadfin shad from the bank at mid lake, so you might want to try the 2mile bridge areas next time, especially on a day like yesterday with very light and changing wind is very tough banking day, or that's been my experience anyway. So don't be too hard on yourself and don't give up on them shad and worms. Plus, with this new water Twok is like a new lake, I'm now relearning the lake anew by scouting different parts of the lake. Yesterday I was at the southern end of the lake not very far from you hunting scale fish, no luck there either... went north end to try my luck on cats... one weird looking bull channel cat and a drum...but found shad at both end of Lake and birds working the surface sporadically here and there at both ends...

I fished at the point and various places in that park. I have been fairly successful before, but I have never been skunked there. Do you think there will be some blues around there when the weather is a bit cooler?

I think blue cats did came and they didn't like those small stumps that kept hitting their noses and they didn't return, lol. My last time fishing there there were two elderly gentlemen ingeniously built an "island" with washed up dead willows branches to sit on and 2+ meters stakes and pole holders on the edge of submerged willows to avoid getting snagged... so they were fishing in deeper water and caught quite a few 3-4 lb blues,... they had like 8 poles and pretty much covered the point, so I fished the little trough to right beyond the submerged willows, I caught two channel cats and always snagged... then I noticed channel cats were among the willows...

Will blues come back? I doubt it, they came but they stayed away from the stumps... shad probably do too, shad are open water fish and blues are strong swimmers poly don't like stumps hitting their noses... I'd fish somewhere else until water recede beyond those willows stumps...

You gotta remember i aint down there fishing but all the blues i been catching have been deep drifting & dragging the i-pilot around the water....

lol drifting dragging i-pilot for us bankers? north texas catfish are just as confused as I am, lol. We had drought for a few years and our landlocked fish adapted...then we had heavy flood late spring to early summer this year... for the first time in many years we had flowing currents in our lakes... our fish instinctively reverted back to their natural patterns, but then currents abruptly stop... so me thinking our fish now are in transit to pre flood patterns...my

Btw, blues do come shallow in evening but they just don't hang around long enough like they used to...

I was talking about how I was catching blues up my way I understand you bank fish. I know lake tawakoni well we come down every year and have for years...I am glad the water came back up man you guys were hurting......Most people i ever seen bank fishing were by Kennys or wind point or anchor or 751 or state park , squirrell or up around caddo....the hard-core guy's were wading out as far as they could then casting at the deep. I am suggesting to try deep our water is 84* and the graph has most of the fish deep...

Welcome to the club Kingcarl lol... its going to be a challenge for awhile... I welcome the challenge, it makes bank fishing interesting things will settle down eventually.
