I recently installed a Humminbird 1199 at the console of my boat as well as a Helix 5 at the bow and felt like they were working pretty good. However this is my first graph with side scan and needed some help interpreting the images. I read the forum daily and have read about Slade Dougharty at lake Fork. So I booked a trip last weekend with him and wasn't disappointed. With in a couple minutes he had my graph looking better than ever and my wife and I felt like we had made great friend. Slade answered all my million questions as he went through all my setting on each graph. He adjusted my Map, DI, SI, and 2D Sonar. We then spent several hours traveling the lake looking at different types of structures while he explained the images. If your in need of electronics training call Slade, I can't imagine finding anyone more knowledge about graphs with a better personality.

I was out with Slade this weekend also. We set up my Lowrance gen3 units and captured some amazing screenshots, which unfortunately were recorded on the internal memory and not on the SD card, so I will post them after I go to Fork next time.

one in particular I can't wait to see on my 30" computer monitor. using the DI, we were over a brush pile that looked like a Christmas tree with little lights (little crappie) shining brightly along each limb of the branches. a few feet off to the side of this was the image (outline?) of what was probably a large bass looking up at the crappie. you could clearly see the detail, right down to the fork in the tail of the bass, tilted up at a 45 degree angle. amazing detail that I had not been able to dial in before getting help from Slade.
