You do that for EVERY sinker??? Good lord man, you do realize you can get them with inserts already in them?

Ya I know you can get them with it in it. I am sure there are plenty of people out there that have weights laying around that do not have them in it. It really only takes about 20-30 seconds to do a weight. Have some beer and put some rubber in your weights isn't a bad way to end a night..

Great video! I've done this to some of my sinkers already, but your video reminds me how easy it is to do and to quit being lazy about lining all my tungsten. Thanks!

I quit using inserts with fluorocarbon line due to the line fraying and breaking. Only use smooth bore tungsten now with no problems.

This has been my experience also. I now use insert free weights, but we do check each of them for rough spots. Just run your line through the sinker and run it up and down your line with some sideways pressure. You'll quickly find the rough spots on them if there are any there.

Great tip! Turn your Texas tin flag over. It's upside down.

Way too much wasted time. But quality weights that are either smoothed or come with the insert. . .

A better video explaining and showing it than the original, that of Aaron Martens.

And, Aaron Martens might not have invented it but he touted it in videos and public presentations. He is one of those anglers who is constantly searching for little tips and techniques to make small improvements to his results. It apparently is paying off with his big win this year.

Martens, unfortunately, is not very articulate to say the least. Often, he puts out some really different idea about a rigging or a knot or a presentation, he then tries to explain it, but he almost always leaves out something that keeps viewers either guessing what he meant, or what happens in some missing step.

Brad

Great idea in theory, but you must not have kids or a wife... I barely find time to get on the water much less mess with all my tackle. Good video though.

better to buy the polished bore weights. A lot of the "buy in bulk" tungsten will scar your line up. Strike king is good to go out of the package.

Thats my money fish
