Took the grandson, mom, and nonnie out for a while Sunday afternoon. The wind kept us off the places around the island I'd been catching keepers. We fished the points and drops, out of the waves, from Isle Du Bois up to Jordan Branch and caught the typical 8-12 inch sandies. We finally ventured over toward the Johnson Branch swim beach and found schools of 8-12 inch largemouth congregated behind a point, out of the wind. We caught them 2 at a time for a while and there would be 6 or 7 chasing them as we pulled them out of the water. Looks like the lake will have a lot of "green" fish to grow for a while! Most of the fish would take a 2" chartreuse grub tied about 18" above a CC slab or #4 Mepps Aglia. We left about 6:45 and got home in time to see the 2nd half of the Cowboy game.... The grandson (2 1/2 years old) had a blast so all was good.
