JD is alive and well .. Bout as well as can be expected with this years floods at Texoma
I am very good friends with JD and do a lot of trips for him throughout the year. I see him
And talk to him almost daily
We have talked about the TFF a lot over the years and he is the one who convinced me to sign up on here..
I don't think he would mind me sharing this and I guess if he does I'll get an earful tonight
He has had many great things to say about the TFF and has told me that he has had many customers from
Here, and still does.
Problem is, as he had told me is that being so highly visible on here and other forums has put a big target on his back. Sometimes that's good and often times that's bad.
Bottom line is he didn't feel appreciated... I've read his reports in the past and his are / were very helpful and specific.. Not just posting pictures and begging for business but rather just being helpful to the masses . He has told me many stories about people emailing him or calling him late in the evenings asking for free advice and never even bothering to hire him for a trip. And then times when he would get a 10 pm Friday night email and not even see it until Monday from someone asking where to fish the next day. Then those people would get mad and chew him out for not answering.
He got very frustrated with people always following him around on the lake and even other guides who would read his reports and then beat him to his fishing holes the next day.
Now with all that said keep in mind that he has also told me about the many great friends he has made thru this forum and
Many paying customers as well.
I can see myself that somehow somewhere he has built his business to be one of the busiest on the lake.
He has told me many times that he wishes he could still post but it just gets too frustrating for him with all the BS that he seems to experience.
Whewwww.... Hope I didn't overstep here but I know him as well as anyone and we've had these conversations many times recently.
I've seen some it myself just being on here for a short time. Other guides saying " I'm the best , hire me "
Or other people promoting guides whom they have never even hired or fished with. Even though I'm
Newly registered I've been lurking on here for years so I can say that from my own experience. I can see how it can be so frustrating for him over the years. I think he told me he has been on here for 12-13 years ??
Again he is doing well and has been posting stuff on his Facebook page and is even gonna be starting a new live feed broadcast giving tips and info on live broadcasts via Internet.
I also know he is working on writing a book..
We've all had lots of time off during the Texoma floods
Also just FYI for those that don't know he has been doing all of his scheduled trips since about June over on lake Tawakoni and doing very well on those hybrids !!
His boat is still on Tawakoni and as of today he wasn't planning on being back to Texoma until next week

Thanks Jay. I have known JD for about 9 years. I met him thru friends that are on the forum and I can verify that he is a stand up honest guy and a super guide. He is someone that through meeting him on this forum I can call a friend. I heard he was doing great on Tawakoni and I knew it would not be long before he was back on Texoma. That is a long drive from his house.

I have been on multiple trips with him and he told me same things where ever he go people flock to him.He is a girst rate guy.

No way Jay? TFF peeps follow guides? Hmmmm! I think JD's Twin Brother Jeff Lyle posts a lot on TFF

I too can attest that JD is alive and well. I've fished twice with him on Tawakoni this summer and both times we just slayed the big hybrids .
He has also expressed many of those same thoughts that Jay fuller talked about.
I told him that I , as well as many others miss his detailed reports and often candid opinions
Maybe we can lure him back to the TFF ???
