Nope! This past Spring I found 2 water cormorants dead with big gizzard Shad stuck in their throat. Seen a few dead ones that were almost 14 inches long too.

It does look like something significantly bigger took a swipe at it.
Maybe that's why it jumped in my kayak--it was trying to get away from a big 'ole bass.
Good survival technique on the shad's part, I released it unharmed.

that's a baby gizzard and they are in every lake around here. some are bigger than bass.
