Fished with DFWfisherman today. Great day to be on the water with the cool front knocking the hot temps down to more pleasant temps. We fished the main lake on the west side, fishing brush piles (man made and COE piles). Caught quite a few undersized crappie but brought home 10 crappie that were 11 - 14 inches. Minnows probably caught a few more than jigs, but jigs produced close to the same amount as minnows. Best jig action was a white/chartruse rocky top and a silver white transparent minnow type with black flakes. Most fish caught were close to the bottom or within 4’ of the bottom in water depths of 15 to 30’.

We were diversified fishermen today - caught some drum, catfish, white bass, and small largemouth bass. We were too busy catching fish and solving world problems to get pic’s.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

We went on Friday and brought home 27 crappies. Caught about 40 to 50 baby largemouth. Most fish were caught with minnows. We found two COE piles that were loaded with big crappies. If you could drop it to the bottom before largemouth could get a hold of it you'll catching crappies. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, we had a great day, and I really enjoyed fishing with "Retired Fisherman"; very nice Blue Wave boat and setup!! It's on my Christmas list now!

The bait I was using was the Mr. Crappie 2 inch Shadpole "Glimmer Blue". Has been working nice at Lewisville also.
