I love fishing ponds with my fly rod. The fishing is extremely easy and I catch bigger sunfish and bluegill in the ponds than I do anywhere else. Fly fishing small lakes like Lake Raven and Buescher State park from my kayak would be second.

I picked lakes only because fishing the rivers was dangerous by yourself and they were a good drive away. Alligators, wild cats, and cotton mouths just the a few things keeping me from fishing Angelina River.

I grew up fishing in streams and ponds more than big lakes, so I prefer doing that. Since your poll didn't allow for 2 choices I didn't vote.

Creeks and Stock Tanks are flat out unbeatable. I voted creeks.

For sunfish, I like clear creeks. The colors on Sunfish in creeks are unbeatable and the fish tend to be stupid from lack of pressure.

Stock tanks do tend to have giants

I pick lakes just because my local lake is second only to Banker's in producing Mega-Fish lol.
