In January I sunk 45 Christmas trees in the Pool. Then the rains came. And the lake closed. This past Thursday was the first day not on a weekend that I had a chance to get out on the lake and check out my brushpiles since the boat ramps re-opened at the end of Aug. At one point we were trolling motoring around a hump looking for a spot where I had dropped 3 trees but couldn't find them. Just for grins I dropped a three way rig with a minnow on it down while we were looking around. It wasn't down there 2 seconds and I got hammered hard. Got it up to the boat and it is a 14" blue. I try it again and get another one this time about 16". I sat there and wore them out, one right after another 10 fish, none bigger than 16 or so inches until I caught a channel. All totaled I caught about 30 cats, mostly blues, in about 40 minutes. None of them any size but still the most blues I've ever caught in the Pool in one trip. Heck it might be the most blues I've ever caught in Pool period...
