May be camping at Anchor Inn on Tawakoni next week in RV and was wondering people's opinion of this place. Also was wondering where is best place to set trotlines close to this area. Have an 18ft pontoon with 50HP motor so getting out on the water is no issue unless we have 20-30 MPH winds. Prefer not to have to run all over lake to manage lines.

Trot lines work well at the lake. I cannot imagine trying to run trot lines in a pontoon . You must really be dedicated to trot line fishing. I think if I were fishing from pontoon I would consider the rod and reel or jugs over trot lines.

It can be a bit of a chore, especially if there is a lot of wind but at Tawakoni, it seems to be the best way for me to go. I've never been to this RV park and have usually stayed at Kenny's landing but no decent boat ramp around there with the bridge construction. Trying to find somewhat sheltered place close by that park to tie of those lines.

I would prefer fork or taw and I would fish rod ANd reel cAtch all u want .my 2cents

The grade on the ramp at Anchor Inn is very shallow and can be a pain if you are trying to lunch by yourself.

I would never try to run a trotline from a pontoon boat. Most people I know that run trotlines use small flat bottom boats. I would think juglines would be a better choice.

Sent you a pm... Plenty of places to run a line near anchor. It is no fun to run them from a pontoon, but it can be done, when we are harvesting, we use jug lines

You guys are awesome! This is what this forum should all be about. You're right about using a pontoon but I don't own a jon boat and givin how choppy the big lakes can get, I do feel safer on the pontoon. I actually plan to trotline and rod and reel fish as I'll be there several days. I'm all about safety and if it gets too sketchy on the trotlines, I'll cut them loose and stick to the rod. I've used the pontoon for this before and have even run them off a 27ft cruiser (with a little help). I'll also watch that ramp. My pontoon is small, 18ft. , compared to most so it's a little easier to handle than the larger ones. Just gotta hope the weather is kind and the fish are hungry

Don't want to end up like those guys on Dangerous Catch and get pulled overboard and to the bottom. I also wear a life jacket and a big bowie knife in case I have to cut a line and also have a trolling motor on the front of that boat to help keep it in the right direction. If it pulls too hard, I back off. Thanks for the concern and advice.
