Planning on getting familiar with TB for the 2016 Bass Champs events and will be looking for some feedback on good places to stay.
Has anyone stayed at Harborlight Marina. I see that is basically across the lake from Cypress bend.
Is there a boat lane going out to the main lake from the marina or is it idle?
I'm open to any other places and suggestions. I will be coming from the Lake Fork area and would to stay mid lake area if possible.
I would be open to sharing expenses if anyone has a cabin or house rented.

Thanks

Hey Danny,

We just did Fin and Feather. It's a bit more south but a great place to stay with a great restaurant.

Good luck out there.

TBH, we stayed at Cupress Bend this year and it was a great deal all things considered. You're right there at the resort, nice restaurant and bar, plenty of parking and plug ins, and they had a reduced rate for champs. Decent golf course as well if the wind is blowing 30 mph.

You can run from the main boat lane to Cypress Bend but you need to see someone do it first. It's not real dangerous but it would be best to see it done first.

Fun n Feather is deck Italy the place to be on Toledo. As JB said above, it is a little further south, but the good food and cold beer make up for it.

The run from the Marina to the boat lane, wasn't that straight down the creek channel in the middle and hang a left? I've only been there once for three days, but yes, once you see it, you can easily repeat it.

Thanks guys. I've been checking vacation home rentals. Many are waterfront and some have covered boat slips. Some of these are prices really well. There are some in the same cove as Harborlight. David, I do have the Lance Vic boat lanes chip you think that will have the run to the marina on it? If not I can record one and then follow it back out.

If you stay at Harbor Light Marina it is faster to drive to Cypress Bend than to go by boat if you have not ran it a bunch. You have to run the Polygacho (Sp) then the Spring Hill boat lanes. Once you get to the south end of Spring Hill you can just cut straight across to Cypress Bend

Harbor Light has been For Sale & closed, several times over the years. Just make sure they will still be open when you want to stay.

Was at Fin and Feather a couple of weeks ago and Cypress Bend last weekend. Both were great places but Cypress Bend is much nicer, IMO. I'd return to either one of them but given a choice I'd choose CB.

Pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant at Fin and Feather restaurant. I just don't understand how these country folks can sleep at night serving instant potatoes. :|

BD..... That's too funny. We were eating there and my wife's only complaint was.... "Do these mashed potatoes taste like weed?" Ummmmmm.... Actually.... I do detect a hint of weed in there! So we ordered more. wink

The fried shrimp is really good. The grilled shrimp with the chunks of jalepeno and bacon are delish. But the kicker, above all else, is the migas for breakfast. It's not even really migas but a pile of tostada chips covered with scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, etc. I'm considering driving the three hours to go get some more. wink
