I ordinarily try to go fishing once a week, but because the long flood is finally over I have gone several times in a row. The fish are still biting. I caught dozens of fish all four days - Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. All of the fish are fat and healthy, with the biggest running just under 8 inches. As a bonus I caught several small channel catfish before daylight. Most of the fish were released, but I kept the ones I deep hooked plus several I gave to fellow fishermen who wanted a fish fry. The bigger fish were suspended at about four feet. Now I will go back to my Wednesday schedule.

Awesome stringer of fish! Good job Sir! Side Note: Been catching a bunch suspended also in my neck of the woods. Looks like the Gills are getting in their fall mode to eat up before the cold of winter sets in.

I have to call BS on smithaven. He caught at least one over 8 inches. I was the benefactor of taking home some of his keepers and I'm 90% sure he caught the one shown in the pic and I had already cleaned a bigger fish. He had about 30 good fish in the basket when I left compared to my 8, so he was nice enough to give me some. Big thanks to smithaven, he let me use one of his floats, gave me #8 hook and even set my rig up for me as I was unprepared for the situation. I didn't realize it was him but found out afterwards. Great guy with a wealth of knowledge and very generous. They don't make too many like him anymore!

I totally agree with ya. "Smithaven" has shared some super knowledge on the Sunfish over the years that I have been on this forum! He also knows how to catch his fare share of Rainbow Trout!
