Just bought a 2010 lowe stinger with a 2010 mercury 50hp 2 stroke, boat and motor have 10hrs on them and I have always heard nightmare stories of oil injection failing and burning the power head up. Should I be concerned and bypass the oil injection or is it pretty reliable, any experience on this subject would be greatly appreciated

I would leave it working, most /all nightmares were form the old Johnson/evinrudes that engineering and parts were not so great, you should have a boat oil tank and one on the engine itself with a warning horn etc. I say that because I have a 2000 vmax 150 Yamaha and have had no issues. just my opinion on things
