Took a break from chasing Hybrids to spend the weekend fishin for some specks & reds on the TX coast. Caught a lot of trout, mostly small, but we managed 6 keepers Saturday, 5 Sunday, & 3 on Labor Day. The lady fish population isn't struggling, same for the needlefish. Caught a couple of small reds, but lost one that I guesstimate was between 25 - 30 inches that decided to eat a spinnerbait.

All in all a great weekend on N Padre!

Great pics man! I would love to catch a skipjack ( ladyfish) that size on a fly rod. They fight just like a little tarpon and one that big would be outstanding.

yes well you would have plenty of opportunity out there right now, they are thick! Pompano in the surf on the fly would be awesome as well!

I'm hoping to make it back down in Nov and want to try for some mangrove snapper off of Packery or over by Conn Brown harbor.

That's great news. I'm headed down there in two weeks. Can't wait to breath that salt air and cast a fly at things with TEETH.
