I'll be staying with some of my family this weekend that have a house on lake lewisville. I haven't bass fished this lake but just a couple time many years ago so I don't know much about it. They sent me a screen shot with the circle showing me approx. where they live and the arrow representing which boat ramp I can use in that area.

Is there decent bass fishing around this location or should I look at putting in somewhere else?

Also, any tips on bass fishing this lake right now would be greatly appreciated.

That's a good area. Flip a small beaver style bait around flooded bushes.

lewisville is a very tough lake and people are usually pretty tight lipped when it comes to info. Ive won a tournament out there but don't know too too much about the lake. I like to flip the tires out at 121.

I would tend to agree. Have only fished it a couple of times, and certainly didn't figure it out. Really haven't heard much about how to do well out there either. There must be an elite society of tight lipped fisherman who know her secrets, but I have not been inducted into that club.

pretty sure there is a The Colony bass club. I know a guy thats out there ALL the time named bill, i lost his number but he knows more about lewisville than anyone.

Flip the bushes on the bank and work both of the main lake points of that cove with a crankbait. I usually like citrus shad on lewisville, but I haven't been out there this year so you might take this info with a grain of salt. There are some nice bass in lewisville, but they are not easily caught. Anywhere you see rock is a good place to fish imo.

Lewisville is hit or miss, there is more bait in the lake this year then I have seen for many years which makes the fishing very tough. But you can still catch some fish, points, rocks, and pockets, still giving up some fish not much for size but you can catch them. In the morning flukes in pearl white or watermelon/red and top-water baits around points with vegetation, then once the sun comes up back off the bank with a drop shot in various watermelon colors work. Main lake points are pretty tough to fish because of too much lake traffic but the main lake coves will work instead. There are lots of areas full of flooded baby willow trees, these are too hard to find fish in, look for areas with less concentrations of willows and you can find the fish a lot easier, flip your soft plastics in them and top waters too. There really has not been a good pattern but you can catch fish (small ones) on just about any lure that you throw right now. If all else fails go crank the dam boat traffic makes it tough after the early morning time. good luck hope this helps

Using the boat ramp you have circled (launch fee is $10), come out of the cove and head towards the I35 bridge. The last big cove on your left (to the north) just before you get to the bridge would be a very good place for you as a first timer. It holds fish and pretty much has everything you want to fish-deep and shallow water, plenty of rock, some boat houses, timber at the very back and flooded bushes. Plus you won't have to deal with all the pleasure boaters/waves. If you fish it thoroughly enough, it will take the better part of your morning. Bait is VERY small right now and tons of it so bite is really tough and you'll want to downsize everything you throw.

There are two humps at Oakland Park. Should be able to see on maps with tops at 12-15 ft and 25 ft in between and on out side of them. Caught some good fish over the years there on C rig. The humps are just east of point.

You can beat the rip rap around I35 and the dam with a square bill and lipless. That would be the easiest, but everyone else will be doing it as well. You will catch some fish doing it for sure, but size and numbers will vary.

My house is in that neighborhood right where your launching. That area has been very good for me. Main points, secondary point with a shakeyhead with a grande bass rattlesnake has always been good for me around there. I have found that Lake Lewisville is all about rock. Find rock and youll find fish. There is quite a bit of submerged brush around where your launching and the last time i went out I got bit quite a few times in that exact cove flipping up in around that brush. Exaclty adjacent to that cove there is a small marina. Go to the back of it where the bridge and rip rap is. Killed it over there a couple of weeks ago. Of course that was a couple of weeks ago. Ill probably be out there saturday afternoon. supposed to be a nice cool day. Grey and red Z7. dont be afraid to say hi
