Anyone have any locations they would like to share to fish for Crappie from the shoreline? I live near Lake Lavon so places near Lavon would be best.

Thanks,
JZ

They will be in the creeks this winter and it could be good with current water levels. This spring, you should be able to find them anywhere with nearby cover and deeper water...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Pick a creek, any creek, or any river feeding a lake, and after Thanksgiving, or an early first frost, you should be able to abuse those poor speckle sided critters! Winter is the REAL CRAPPIE SEASON for bank fishermen. Creeks is the key!

Thanks Rudy,
Do you know if the creek on the backside of the Lavon Damn holds Crappie during the winter? I see people fish under the bridge on 78 all the time, just don't know what they are fishing for.

I am not an expert on Lavon, but that river holds a lot of fish, spillover from lavon and runs up from Hubbard, so yes there should be crappie somewhere on that river. There are others here that are lavon experts and can bring you up to speed on winter crappie creeks that feed lavon.

good luck,

Rudy

You will have access to some creeks on lavon! Most have some decent water! Key to your success is scout and more scouting. Don't be surprised when you catch a batch of sandies to. Lavon feeder creeks should be awesome this year!$$
Good luck!

Great! I can't wait... I will also soon have access to a slip on Lavon so I hope that the fish pick up there as well!
