I am a boat captain and already have a partner for this amazing event. We take a soldier/vet fishing in a bass tournament to let them experience bass fishing at its finest. We provide boat, gas, and tackle for the soldiers. I have never been on the lake before and just looking some direction on what baits/areas are productive. I want to honor my soldier by putting him on some fish. If you are fishing it too, I understand being closed lipped. If you have any insight on the lake, please PM me so that I can put one of America's finest on some fish to reward them for their sacrifices for our freedom. Thanks in advance for any and all replies. From what Ibhave researched the past day or two, it says it is a deep lake with limestone cliffs. My strengths are in the 2-20 foot range as that is my comfort zone. Again...thanks again for all replies in helping reward a hero with a great day of fishing.

Welcome to Belton patterns tend not to hold up out here, fish are very nomadic and will pull in an out of spots constantly heck just a change from overcast to slightly overcast can destroy a good bite. Northern and western end of the lake where it's more creek/river can be more consistent but it's feast or famine. Check brush humps typical stuff out there. As for everywhere in between right now look at rocks on main lake points and bluffs the nastier the better, wind blown is a bonus. Come late October should be some good shallow fishing in shoreline cover but the rocks will still hold em too. Marinas can hold fish but not always size another feast or famine deal.

We been catchin lots of smallmouth on football jigs with an occasional toad blackbass mixed in. thumb
