Welp, it's finally almost here.. myself and several of my best buds are fixin' to head down to Big Lake in SW Louisiana to get in on some of that famous action. We are staying at L'Auberge Casino Resort, and fishin' one day and playing golf the next. I really can't express how excited I am... fishing, gambling, beer, golf, football... oh my.

We got a guide from Hackberry Rod and Gun, which I hear is the top notch guide service. I hope and expect to catch trout, reds, flounder, maybe some Tripletail?

I've never been before. Anyone been? Know what to expect? Good restaurants/bars to hit? Did ya hammer the fish?

Excellent fishing down there. there isn't much in hackberry but a grocery store. I've only had two slow days of fishing down there this year and we still limited out. I took my family in August and they got to see the pink dolphin down near the jetties. Be sure and take a camera!

that's a nice mess of fish! Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the pink dolphin. I'll be taking the GoPro and will post pics!

Been to Hackberry 3 times. Excellent fishing.

I'll be heading down there in mid Oct. so please do give a report back. I've been down there twice but both times I just had kayaks this will be the first time down there with my boat.
