You remember the "old" Texas Giant? The run across the lake is that bad when the boarders, skiers, and jet skis are out. There is no grass to break it up, and lots of metal walls. As to fishing, I've only been there twice, but I keep hearing and seeing that it is a "structure oriented" lake.

Cypress holds some real quality fish. Since we are now past Labor Day some of the jet ski and party boats will not be on the water, but if you can go midweek or early in the morning.

I have never been skunked on that lake. Blue back chartruse side white belly deep diving crank baits and beavers have been my ticket in the past. Also Lucky Craft jerkbaits in Tennessee Shad. But I have not been there for 2 years.

We were there a week ago and fishing was kind of tough. The fish were there they just were not biting aggressively. Lots of back hook crank bait fish and slow slow worm fishing to get bit during the day. At night we threw worms and spinners with trailer hooks. Most of my fish were caught on the trailer hook. Main lake points and banks with deep water access was the key to catching them for us. We were fishing on the night of the full moon and it became excruciatingly slow that night. Hopefully they have decided to eat again. We had a few between 3 and 4 lbs but most were smaller.

There are a lot of docks to fish. There are lilly pads in the upper part of the lake. It is a rough ride when the pleasure boaters are out , but the upper part of the lake is worth the run. It gets shallow but there is some pretty good shore cover past the bridge.

Thanks guys. It gives a good start. We are going in two weeks. It's a Saturday tournament so I guess I will battle the ski boats for sure.

Does anyone know if there are still lily pads on the west side of the lake past the bridge? I caught some really nice fish in those pads back in the late 90's.

A few months ago we graphed fish off points and dropped a bait down to them and caught lots of fish. If you can stand the pleasure boaters im sure you can catch fish by dropshotting them.
