The way it happens for me is something always changes the night of the tournament, i.e. temp, weather, wind.

Yep I agree, my best finishes always came on bodies of water that I'd never seen until the morning of the tournament. All I had in my head was some spots marked on a TOPO map and that 6th sense you get from years on the water.........

Prefishing to me is catching a nice bag just going fishing that day and then I get that pattern stuck in my head and forget to fish the conditions on tournament day.
