I am looking for some info on lake Tawakoni. Any recent trips with some info? Looking for largemouth bass info. From what i hear, they stay shallow most of the year, but you have to know where they are. Any help would be great..

They are pretty skittish on that lake. If they venture into deeper water the blue cats will eat them.

Its bazaar.Tawakoni would rank poorly as a largemouth lake.
But its the best catfish lake period.
Its right up there with the best for stripers.
A good sand bass lake
One of the best for crappie.

Try the secondary coves in Cedar Cove from the points to the back.

Tawakoni is without a doubt the most difficult lake for me to fish for largemouth. I'm convinced they don't set up right, or even act like other largemouth. I've fished some of the prettiest looking water several times and come away shaking my head. Other days my kids will just throw out there / anywhere, with something off the wall and catch one. I wish I had it figured, but I'd be lying.
I'm still searching too...

+1 Twok is always tough for black bass. In addition to the Cedar Cove coves. Here is my list.
-the lily pads in front of Thousand Trail.
-the stumps in Tall Man especially the old Tall Man marina if you can get back there.
-always jig and pig the dam.
-boat houses and piers are a must try.

Good luck.

The middle creak in the back of Hickory Cove is another spot that should be good a lot more times than it is.
The back of Tall Man is absolutely spectacular looking! A white frog there has produced.
Don't overlook Mustang Cove, especially if you put in at the State Park. The kids pulled 10 or 12 out of there one night on some tailspins.

The key to fishing Tawakoni is go shallow, You have to literally throw your bait on dry bank then bring it in. I'm Serious.
This lake is a very good lake for largemouth.

There is a cove between Tall Man and the Dam. Don't know it's name but we always called it Bull Moose Cove because in the lakes younger days there was a marina there by that name. It did not look all that good but it was very good a few years ago running spinners just above the grass beds.

just got off the lake... caught about 50 of em. Not a single one over 12 inches. I hit all the spots mentioned above. I caught them on flukes in the docks, senko's in some of the brush, dropshot by the bridge, and I found a school of em that wore my crankbait out near some random brush. It's my 2nd day in 2 weeks over there, and the last was just the same. Can't find anything on the points. I'm just as confused as all of y'all. I'd love a tip.pointer... I just fish it for fun b/c my boat is stored on the lake.
Miraculously... not a single bite in Rabbit cove (last week).

This is it. I have heard multiple people say if your not kicking up mud with your trolling motor your not fishing shallow enough. It's true. It can make it a really fun lake though. Back in 2010-2012 before it got way low we would take our inflatable boat out there and just fish the state park cove. It would be a hot summer morning and we would catch fish after fish on a spinnerbait in 2ft of water or less...and big ones too. Of course it sucked when it got low and has been tough since it filled up. It should be a good place to go throughout the next year or so.

I asked if anyone had been out there in the largemouth section and one guy that responded said the same thing about catching the little fish.
